Who this is for
- Hosts who already have a confirmed booking on Houfy
- Hosts who want to change the stay dates, number of nights, or price
Before you start
- Make sure you are logged in to your Houfy account.
- Have your guest’s name or reservation handy so you can find the correct booking.
Steps
- Open your calendar
Go to Menu → Calendar and find the property and dates of the booking you want to change. - Select the booking
Click once on the colored booking block on the Calendar to open the reservation. - Open the booking details
In the small window that appears, click Details to go to the full Reservation Details page. - Scroll to the change option
On the Reservation Details page, slowly scroll down until you see the Change reservation button. - Start the change request
Click Change reservation. A new screen will open to edit the reservation. - Choose the new dates
Click in the Check-in field and select the new arrival date.
Click in the Check-out field and select the new departure date. - Update the price (optional)
If you want the price to stay the same, choose the option that keeps the Price unchanged.
If you want to change the price, choose the option to update the price, then enter the new amount. - Review the changes
Check the dates, number of nights, price, and any fees. Make sure everything is correct. - Send the change request
Click Send request. Houfy will send the change to your guest for approval. - Confirm the updated booking
After the guest accepts, go back to your Calendar and check that the booking block now shows the new dates and price.
You can also open Details again to double-check the updated reservation.
Troubleshooting
- I can’t find the booking on my calendar
Check you are on the correct property and month.
Use the Reservations section to search by guest name or reservation code. - I don’t see the “Change reservation” button
Only the host can send a change request. Guests cannot start a change. - The guest has not accepted the change
Message the guest using the Message button on the Reservation Details page and kindly remind them to review the change request.
If they do not agree, the original booking will stay as it is. - The new dates do not appear on the calendar
Refresh the page in your browser.
Check the booking again from Calendar → Details to confirm the status.
FAQs
Q: Can I change a booking without asking the guest?
A: No. All changes must be sent as a change request and accepted by the guest.
Q: Can I change only the price and keep the same dates?
A: Yes. Start a Change reservation, keep the dates the same, and adjust only the Price before you click Send request.
Q: What happens if the guest declines the change?
A: The booking stays with the original dates and price. You can message the guest to discuss other options.
Q: Can I change a booking after the guest has already checked in?
A: This may depend on your agreement with the guest. You can still try to send a Change reservation request, but make sure you explain the change clearly in a Message.
