How do Houfy members collect damage deposits?

Here are some ways houfy members collect a damage deposit:

  1. They collect the damage deposit via Venmo, Zelle, etc. and return it via the same method.
  2. Do an authorization hold via Stripe using a channel manager.
  3. They just eat the cost when collecting a damage deposit with Stripe.
  4. Collect and refund via Square even though it's against their terms and conditions.
  5. Charge a non-refundable damage deposit policy through a 3rd party company. They require this on each reservation.
  6. Don't charge a damage deposit at all and just request guests report damage.
  7. Do an authorization hold through PayPal with jotform.

How do I edit which currency I accept for payments?
Log into Houfy Click your profile picture in the top right of Houfy Manage Listings Edit > Settings Payment & Policies From the drop down menu select the currency or (at top of drop down) select that guests can choose any currency they want.
How do i show I accept credit cards?
Go to Manage Listings > Edit > Settings > Payment & Polcies. Check off the cards you accept. Note: You will not see anything that says "Stripe" or "Square" because it wouldn't make sense for your listing to show the payment processor you use. Travelers just want to see the credit cards you accept. Saying you "accept Stripe and Square" may just confuse travelers since they aren't credit cards.
