Costa Rica vacation rentals

LaRayes villa is the best location. Steps from the beach and a private pool. The corner location is very private but close to the dining area and main pools. The restaurant on location is very good. The staff is beyond sweet. The people of Costa Rica treat you like you are family. Cesar in the office is very helpful with car rental, tours and local attractions. Get a 4x4. LaRaye who owns the villa is so wonderful. She’s quick to answer any questions and was very helpful. Must Dos: Local Rum Centenario 20 year. A local liquor Guaro. Lizano Salsa Sauce...it’s so great we caught ourselves eating it on everything. The Bolson River Tour ...ask for Randall. It’s a must see. It includes an authentic Costa Rican lunch and Randall stopped at a local pottery place. Willies pottery goes back 7 generations. It was one of our favorite days. Tamarindo...the beach and town are a lot of fun. Eat a “typical plate”. This is what they call the local fare .Jardin Tropical is a great local spot in Coco. We ate there twice. The owner is wonderful. Take Colons (local money). The Colons are handy at the local spots and fruit stands. Eat Pineapple, Mango, Passion Fruit, ceviche and local fish. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The villa ia minutes from Playa Coco. The roads are very easy to navigate. Stay off what they call The Monkey Trail also known as Rt. 911. It’s very rough and difficult. Other than the Monkey Trail the roads are great. Pay attention to the GPS and use your map. The GPS likes the Monkey Trail. We explored the areas around us and really loved getting to see the other beaches and meeting the locals. The villa is truly one of the best places to stay in the area. The villa was roomy and well decorated with a nice stocked kitchen. After seeing other parts of the area we felt so blessed to be in our villa. It truly is the best place to stay in Coco.

We were very happy to have stayed here among all the choices one has. Bahia Pez Vela in general was the perfect spot for us (family with two young kids). Very private beach with few visitors compared to so many, safe for swimming and snorkeling (Costa Rican beaches can have serious riptides, waves and undertows--this was relatively calm). Clean. The resort is made up of a cluster of villas with very well kept grounds, a very convenient restaurant, Picante, serving excellent food, and pools. Cesar in the office was a pleasure to work with and all staff were courteous and helpful. While the resort has a very private feel, it also offers easy access to Coco (with lots of restaurants, shops and grocery stores) as well as the main Ocotal beach (restaurant such as Father Roosters, scuba diving shop, fishing, etc.) For us it was the best of both worlds--proximity to conveniences when we wanted them yet a private, clean and safe area to relax and enjoy the paradise. This villa is spacious, comfortable and in very clean condition. Kitchen is stocked with utensils and appliances and the laundry room has laundry as well as snorkeling equipment and a collection of sand toys and such that were helpful for us. Remember to bring laundry detergent or buy some, as well as shampoo. Otherwise, the house is set with supplies. The owner was very responsive before and during the trip. On our first day there, the a/c in the living room was on the fritz. We contacted the owner directly as reception was closed being saturday night and he helped us right away with troubleshooting. When that didn't work he made sure to line up help. It was Easter Sunday and yet first thing in the morning it was repaired. Really appreciated the responsiveness of the owner and the crew. It was paradise! I highly recommend both the villa as well as the resort in general. A wonderful set up.

9 days. 6 guests. 3 generations. ALL highly recommend! Helena (host) and María (Google bookwithmaría) were consistently friendly & responsive. María was right on top of a couple minor fixes & also helped us book taxis, airport shuttles, 2 awesome excursions and answered a TON of questions! We LOVED the pool for playing & watching sunsets & (twice) howler monkeys in the trees. Magic. Two things to know: 1. You DO need 4WD to get up this driveway. 2. Mobility note: Driveway ends at pool. Stepping stones & gravel up to house with no handrail meant normally independent Abuelita had to ask for an assist up and down, every time. If I could change one thing... Our teens LOVED the separate upstairs area with 2 bedrooms & a bath between. Kitchen was well-stocked + huge table for family game nights. So many thoughtful touches! This was our first vacation all together since before covid and our first visit to Sámara. Thank you Helena, María & team for making it so special for us!!

We had really a great time at the Caribbean Sweet. The house is quit new and well equipped also for longer stays with friends or families. It’s one of the few places where reality is better than the fotos on airbnb. We travelled with a 9 month and 3 year old and enjoyed the garden and jungle view and sounds a lot together. We felt save at all time and liked staying a bit outside in the green. But don’t worry everything in Manzanillo is in walking distance and tuk tuks, taxis, bikes and buses are affordable. It’s easy to approach the nicest beaches (Punta Uva/Arrecife) in the area. Jeremy is a fantastic and very responsive host. He put a lot of passion in the place. We didn’t meet him personally as he stayed in the US at that time. Communication was always perfect and not much needed. Manzanillo is really a cool place to stay if you’re not looking for party all night long but enjoying authentic Caribbean vibes with really cool things to do. E.g. Night Jungle Snake tour with Aquiles. Passionated fly fishers can enjoy world class tarpon fishing in the Sixaola river mouth with Toni. Or just enjoy the relaxed beach live in Manzanillo and the wildlife surrounding you. At the weekend you meet a lot of San Jose people enjoying pura vida time at the beach. During the week you only meet a couple of people and the locals are very nice and friendly. We are sensitive to mosquitos and brought our own nets with us. This is something I recommend always to do in that region. I recommend the place 100% and we will come back for sure. Thank you for hosting us Jeremy!

Hi Michael and Ted, I wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time at your home in Costa Rica. The pictures provided on your website did not disappoint. The bedrooms are spacious and provided plenty of room for a family or a group of friends (like us) traveling together. The living room area provided ample space for us to share quality time together and enough separation for me to work for a few hours each day and not be distracted by other activity within the house. We were pleasantly surprised to have your housekeeper stop in each day to tidy up the place. She was a delight to be around. Your concierge Susan and her team tracked our drive from San Jose and met us at the house even though we arrived at the house much later than originally anticipated. They were also readily available to answer any questions we had along the way and were there to lock up the house at our 5:30 AM departure time. I can easily see making Costa Rica a regular getaway if you will let us vacation at your place again. Pura Vida, Roger

This was an immaculate place to stay from the simple check in through an app downloaded prior to arrival, and immediate assistance with any questions we had from our host through what’s app. The pool area is comfy and family friendly as well as large enough to hide from the sun or bask in its glory. Security helped provide an extra layer of comfort and security for our rental car and possessions. An easy walk to nearby Jaco beach and plenty of great eateries and even a few bars around the corner. Will be lookin g am to stay here the next time we plan a group escape to the beach in Costa Rica! Marissia'a suite was like a home away from home. A two bed, two bathroom that is very tastefully designed and decorated. The kitchen has the necessities for cooking, with a full size fridge. The suite has two separate patios, east and west facing, both with great views. The livingroom was very comfortable and the televisions are set up for streaming. Marissia was an excellent and proactive communicator. If I had any questions, she was quick and clear in responding. She also had fantastic local advice. The building itself is newer, with parking and a good functional elevator. Neighbors were respectful and quiet. I also really enjoyed my interactions with the security guards, they were great guys! They do not speak much English, so it's a perfect chance to speak Spanish. There are a few great restaurants nearby, a small market for supplies and the beach within a few minutes walk. Staying at Marissia's suite was a perfect location and I look forward to staying there again next time.
