Estate Warmelo is located on the edge of the town of Diepenheim in the municipality of Hof van Twente. In 1952 the house was bought by Prince Bernhard. His mother, Princess Armgard, lived in the house until her death in 1971. Princess Beatrix and her sisters loved to visit their grandmother Prince Armgard. Warmelo Castle was a warm address for the House of Orange. It is not without reason that they spoke of the 'Warme Lo' and the 'Koude Loo' (Paleis het Loo where Grandma Wilhelmina lived).
