Who this is for
Hosts who want to send a guest a custom offer before confirming a reservation.
Before You Begin
- Make sure your listing is active on Houfy.
- Know your guest’s email address.
- Confirm that your calendar has no overlapping bookings for the selected dates.
Steps
- Open your calendar
Go to Menu › Manage Listings › Calendar. - Add a booking
Click Add (top right corner of the calendar, next to import button) - Select “Booking”
- This will redirect you to create a quote page
- Select dates& number of guests
- You will then have to option to customize pricing and fees if you wish
- Provide guest details (first and last names of recipient, email address and phone number(not essential))
- Add any additional notes/custom messaging
- Click create booking
- Guest completes the payment
- Once logged in, the guest will be directed to a secure payment page to confirm and pay for the reservation.
- Choose to take payments through Houfy
- Turn on Take payments through Houfy and assign your guest.
- Edit the quote
- Review the quote details. You can adjust rates, add discounts, or remove fees before sending.
- Enter your guest’s email
- Type in the guest’s email address, then click Continue.
- Send the quote
- Houfy will check if the guest already has an account.
- If yes, the quote will appear in their Houfy account.
- If not, the guest will receive an email prompting them to sign up or log in.
15. Guest completes the payment
Once logged in, the guest will be directed to a secure payment page to confirm and pay for the reservation.
Troubleshooting
- Guest didn’t receive the email? Ask them to check their spam or junk folder.
- Email not found in Houfy? Double-check for typos before sending.
- Payment not showing as complete? The booking won’t confirm until payment is processed successfully.

Q: Can I change the price after sending the quote?
A: Yes. You can edit or resend the quote before the guest pays.
Q: Does the quote expire?
A: Quotes do not expire automatically, but you can delete them anytime.
Q: Will the dates be blocked automatically?
A: Yes, once the booking is created, the dates are held on your Houfy calendar.
