Is it safe to travel to Playa del Carmen, MX?

There are, and have been, areas that I would NEVER travel to in Mexico and I would certainly never suggest anyone else go there. And I can say the same for the USA as well. In Mexico, most of those areas are in the desert inland areas to the north near the border with USA states of Arizona and New Mexico. This is roughly 3500 KM distance from Playa del Carmen.

We have been owners of our condo for 24 years.  Playa was just a sleepy little fishing village at that time.  My how things have changed. We have all the modern conveniences that you could possibly desire and still enjoy the natural beauty of Playa del Carmen.  Our condo is a one of a kind, oversized, corner unit within 50 feet of the beach.  You will really enjoy the view from our balcony.
