Effective October 31, 2022 daylight savings time was eliminated for all but a few communities along the US border. Quintana Roo and Sonora have not observed daylight time for years, so there is no change for us.

If you need to be seen by a Doctor, we recommend Hospiten Playacar. Very close to the condo on the highway just south of Sams Club. English speaking personnel and very high standards. There is good information here regarding insurance, 911 etc. Check with your health insurance beforehand to see what coverage you may have while traveling in Mexico

English is widely used in Playa del Carmen, especially in the tourist areas. If you venture into the countryside, English will be less prevalent. But, it's not impossible to get by on just a few words...even gestures. Here are some basic Spanish words. Try them out! It's really fun and gratifying.
