Dogs at Snowflake Chalet
We welcome well-behaved dogs at Snowflake Chalet! No cats, please, as we are allergic to them!
Our grand-dog, Joey, above, loves visiting Snowflake Chalet.
We welcome well-behaved dogs at Snowflake Chalet, but if your dog may scratch doors or chew furniture legs, or eliminate in the house, we ask that you please crate them while you are away from the house. Please feel free to use our dog crate, which is stored in the garage. No cats, please, as the owner is allergic!
There are many trails nearby that are dog friendly, and we often take our lab, Tim Riggins, on hikes and to nearby lakes.
Tim Riggins enjoys swimming at Alpine Lake, Utica Reservoir, Union Reservoir and White Pines Lake in Arnold.

"Top of the World" on Arnold Rim Trail Offers Panoramic Views
One of our favorite local dog-friendly hikes is a bit strenuous, but if you don't mind elevation gain, the trail is well-maintained and the views are worth the effort! To the west, you can see all the way across the Central Valley to Mt. Diablo on a clear day, and to the east you can see the grand peaks of the Sierra. Hiking Calaveras Big Trees from Upper Moran Road
When you turn into the BLS neighborhood at Moran Road, make an immediate left and go east on Upper Moran Road for about 1 mile until you reach the gate at the end of the road. You may park on the side of the road before beginning your hike.
