At Check-in
You may check in anytime after 1:00pm. You are welcome to use any of the kitchen items found in the cabinets including spices and coffee. We provide a starter set of all consumables such as toilet paper, paper towels, soap, and coffee. If you forgot something check the "Oops I Forgot!" basket located under the sink in the master bathroom. You may find what you forgot. The first aid kit is located in the bottom drawer of the master bathroom vanity. The fire extinguisher is located under the kitchen sink. If you notice anything amiss please contact Michelle ASAP.
Smart Technology
The property is protected with outside security cameras. These cameras are used to protect the property from potential break-ins and theft. We value your privacy and do not wish to invade it. There are NO cameras inside the house. We also use smart technology to monitor the systems in the house and to protect from potential break-ins and theft. We have a temperature/humidity sensor in the living room behind the wooden chair due to the age of the house and proximity to the coast. There are NO listening or sound recording devices in the house. Please do not tamper with smart technology.
Trash
Please put all garbage in appropriate trash cans. Each can is lined with a plastic bag with a spare in the bottom. The kitchen trash can is located in the cabinet to the left of the refrigerator. We ask that all full garbage bags be transferred to the large trash cans in the wooden structure outside the front door. Please close the door to wooden structure as animals may get into the garbage. If you are renting on a Tuesday or Friday and have garbage we ask that you set it by the road.
Noise
As this is a residential area, please be mindful of our neighbors by keeping the noise level down, especially at night time hours. Please observe quiet hours outside between the hours of 10pm and 8am.
Candles
Candles are not allowed at anytime due to insurance regulations. I have provided a couple of electronic candles and a wax warmer to use instead if you enjoy candles.
Security
Please see to your own security while in the property by locking doors, windows, etc. when it’s prudent to do so. Also, please remember to lock all doors and windows prior to your departure. This is a safe neighborhood, but I would not leave the doors or windows unlocked at night.
Bunk Beds
Please advise children of the safe use of bunkbeds and ladder. Please do not use while intoxicated or using any kind of drugs or medication, or if pregnant.
Smoking
This is a NON SMOKING vacation rental. Smoking is NOT ALLOWED inside the house at any time. This includes, but is not limited to, e-cigarettes, vapes, marijuana, pipes, cigars, and medicinal tobacco products. Please keep all doors and windows closed if smoking outside. Evidence of smoking, such as the smell of cigarette or cigar smoke inside the home by the cleaning crew is sufficient basis to charge the renter for smoke cleanup and removal from AC ducts, filters and furniture. This type of cleanup is expensive and Renter is liable for the deep cleaning costs incurred.
Air Conditioning/Heating
Please set the Air conditioning to 76 or above when not present on the property for more than a few hours. Please close doors and windows when air conditioning is in operation. Please do not set the A/C temperature below 68 as damage may occur to unit.
For heating, please do not set above 80 degrees.
Dehumidifier
Since the cottage is an old house located on the coast moisture can be a problem. There is a dehumidifier located in the laundry room. If the noise bothers you, please turn off why clicking the button on the smart switch the unit is plugged into on the wall. Please do not turn off the unit itself.
Grilling
The grill is located on the front deck. The propane tank will be turned off. it is located under the grill. To turn on the tank, turn the knob on top of the tank. After you turn on the tank, then attempt to light the grill. When you are finished, please turn off all burners and turn off the propane tank. If the propane tank is empty and you have to swap for the spare, please let Michelle know.
Pool
The pool is available for use May through October. It is pretty cold to use it outside of those dates. The filter and saltwater generator are on a timer. If you would like to use the pool and the filter is running, you can flip the switch on the wall of the house halfway between the door and the fence. Please flip the switch back when you are finished.
Fire Pit
There is fire pit starters located in the kitchen in the drawers to the right of the refrigerator. Roasting sticks are located on top of the refrigerator. Please only use appropriate items (firewood etc.) in fire pit.
Beach Towels
We have available a few beach towels. These extra items are provided in the master bathroom linen closet.If used we ask that you wash, dry and return them to their prior location. Pool is available from May to October. We also offer a Pack n’ play, please reserve with initial reservation.
