Enjoy a relaxing weekend on 5 acres in this beautiful private Appalachian two-story log home built almost entirely from the timber on the property. This home was built by Charles McRaven (master log builder/stone mason) who literally wrote several books on the subject. Located only 20 minutes from downtown Charlottesville or 25 minutes from hiking the AT in Shenandoah National Park. In the middle of wine country & several amazing vineyards & vistas! The cabin is surrounded by forest, farmland and vineyards. The Spring and Summer Seasons offer dense greenery. Autumn presents vibrant colors and, in the Winter, mountain views emerge with crisp mountain air and starry skies.

Our three-bedroom cabin is perfect for 6 guests. Fully furnished kitchen should you decide to cook with a propane grill on the back deck. We have a first-floor queen bedroom and standup shower for those who don't want to walk upstairs. Central heating/cooling is provided. Keep the cold at bay by using the beautiful stone fireplace or outside fire pit. We provide enough firewood to get you started. The upstairs remaining bedrooms are king and queen beds with a shared full tub/shower bathroom.

Our cabin is close to all your adventures: Skyline Drive is 25 minutes away, Shenandoah National Park, the Appalachian Trail and other mountain vista hiking is 25 minutes away; you are minutes from Hark Vineyards and Glass House Winery. After a day of hiking or adventures enjoy the beautiful, wooded back yard in the 7-person Hot Tub.

We are 4 miles from Maybelle's Market. They are a new twist on the old country store. They have local goods, grocery staples and full-service kitchen. Plus, gas 24/7. Hit them up first before headed to the cabin.

Leave Kitty and Fido at home, no pets. Service animals are always welcomed.
