Makana - Discovery Bay

Makana, which means 'gift from heaven' or 'reward', boasts a private cove with sandy beach and stunning, sweeping views of Discovery Bay.

As you walk through the front entrance, you follow the fish pond into the house past the small waterfall to the wide open bar, lounge and dining area. Stepping out onto the patio reveals the view of Discovery Bay, the cove, the pool, the gazebo plus the gorgeous grounds. The pool, 16' x 36' and an infinity edge with outdoor hot tub, is crystal clear and inviting. There are complimentary sea kayaks and snorkel equipment to be used. The gazebo is on a quay that extends around the cove and beach and it offers the perfect spot for evening drinks while enjoying the fabulous sunsets.

Built as a two story mansion Makana has 4 luxurious bedrooms upstairs. The master suite is 840 ft² and has beautiful views of the bay from the private balcony. All five bedrooms have ocean views and the sixth bedroom has a balcony with sea views. Affording even more privacy, the separate annex has two more bedrooms. All the bedrooms are air conditioned, have ceiling fans and own private bathrooms. The very large family room upstairs has a full entertainment center, flat screen TV and wireless internet access. For families with children, staff is available for babysitting while you enjoy your vacation. Complimentary crib, play pen and high chair.

As icing on the cake, there is a fully equipped, air conditioned gym/massage spa with outdoor shower and a lighted tennis court on the grounds. High end equipment in the gym include Bowflex™ an eliptical stepper and a treadmill in addition to a flat screen TV and various weights and pilates balls. Adjoining the gym is a spa with massage table and outdoor multi-head shower.

Discovery Bay lies about an hours drive from the airport in Montego Bay. "Millionaires Row" or "The Riviera" is a street that parallels the eastern edge of the bay. There are only water side villas here. The other side of the street has a narural fresh water pond with two nurse sharks that have been there since they were small. There is a children's playground and another tennis court that is shared by some of the other villas. Ocho Rios is just a half an hour away. Around Ocho Rios are many things to do. Fern Gully is there as is Dunn's River Falls - a waterfall that you can walk up. You can swim with dolphins in Ocho Rios as well. Duty Free Shopping is bountiful since Ocho Rios is also a cruise ship port-of-call.
