The space
Casa Lago Moderna offers a truly enchanting lake vacation for up to 12 guests. Upon entering, you'll be struck by its modern wood ceilings and luxurious atmosphere. The wall of floor-to-ceiling windows showcases captivating year-round views of Lake Norman. The modern furnishings, tasteful decor, and large screen TVs invite you to unwind after a day of adventure. Dine while overlooking the lake at the gorgeous Italian dining table inside or outside on the deck. The stylish kitchen features high-end appliances, and everything you need to prepare and serve delicious meals for your group.

Each of the home's four spacious bedrooms offers guests a sunrise view over the lake. Wake up with the morning's light, birdsongs and the sparkling lake, or keep the blackout curtains closed and sleep in. The bed configurations are: BR1: King w/ensuite bath, BR2: King (or 2 XL twins), BR3: Queen & 2 twins, and BR4: King & 2 twins. All beds have comfortable mattresses, quality sheets and freshly laundered bedding (including the duvet covers!)

This custom-built vacation house has tons of amenities. The well-stocked kitchen allows you to make fancy breakfasts including Italian coffees, fresh-squeezed juices, smoothies, and Belgian waffles. You can cook on the induction stove/oven or use the grill or small pizza oven outside. Bedrooms are equally appointed with charging stations on the night tables, TVs with Roku, custom closets, and workspaces. The 3rd bedroom even has a mini-fridge, microwave and DVD player, great for kids' movie nights. In addition to plush bathroom towels, there's a dozen extra beach towels for lake use. Other amenities include: washer/dryer, a piano, board games, puzzles, books, ping-pong table, and Sonos speakers to easily have music playing throughout.

Step outside onto the expansive deck to fully appreciate the unparalleled beauty of this Lake Norman site. You'll feel serenity under the tree canopy while gazing at the shimmering water. Neighboring homes are barely visible. Sit in the cabana's deep seating, just outside the kitchen and main entry and soak in the nature.

For water enthusiasts, this lakehouse offers exclusive access to a fully-loaded drive-thru boathouse and boat ramp. Just push the buttons to open the front and back garage doors, back your boat/jet skis thru it, and down the private ramp into the lake. No boat? No problem. We can give you the best places to rent one to cruise along LKN’s sparkling waters, fish, or engage in water sports, creating unforgettable memories with your loved ones.

However, with so many lake toys you might not even miss a boat. Guests may use the floats, water hammocks, large floating water mat, stand-up paddle board, pool noodles, life jackets of all sizes and assortment of kayaks. Gather up your group, slip on life jackets and take a kayak trip to a nearby island or paddle around our cove alongside ducks, turtles and osprey nests. Back in the boathouse you'll also find 4 bikes to ride around the neighborhood, sports balls (there's a basketball hoop in the driveway), small exercise equipment, yard games, a 2nd full-sized fridge, and outdoor cushions.

The arguably best spot at his lake retreat is at the overwater gazebo. Easily accessible from the house without stairs, using the deck ramp, stroll down a gently sloping sidewalk and splinter-free pier. We call this barefoot luxury! Everyone loves the gazebo's bathing suit-friendly, deep-seating lounge on a firm foundation (no waves) with much-needed shade, breezy fan, mini-fridge, and hands-down best 360° water views. The gazebo is the most comfortable spot to be near those in the lake without getting wet. On a quiet day you'll see fish jump, a heron swoop & screech, osprey dive for fish and geese, ducks and turtles swim by. On a busier lake day, it's super entertaining to watch other boaters pulling tubers, water skiers, and wake boarders doing tricks.

From May-Oct many would argue that being in the lake is where it’s at! This home's prime location on a big cove is actually where many boats from all over the lake come to drop anchor and jump in, because there aren't the treacherous waves like on the main channel. The water around the dock is deep (15'+). You can swim or tread water, but most prefer sitting in a float, laying on the large water mat, holding a pool noodle or floating with a life jacket. There’s even shade to be found in the water if you position yourself near the gazebo.

If you have a boat, you can tie it up to the dock and have it ready to go anytime during your stay. If you have a jet ski, the floating jet ski dock is for you. Sunbathe on the dock, hang your feet in, jump in the deep water, climb up either ladder, swim out to our floating platform, or over to the ramp, take out a kayak or the stand up paddle board, fish and have loads of fun in the lake. When you need a break, rest and have lunch or snacks in the overwater gazebo, until the lake calls you back again. Pop everything in the boat house overnight, close the doors and start over the next day.

When it's time to get off the lake, this home has a lovely grass yard with tire swing and several pleasantly shaded lakeside seating areas: 4 chaise lounges on the patio, a hammock hung between 2 big trees, swinging egg & mod chairs nearby, teak steamer chairs on the deck, and many built-in benches.

As dinnertime approaches, fire up the gas grill or whip up your favorites in the kitchen. If you need something, it's nice that the Publix grocery is only 2 mi away. Don't feel like cooking? Grab take-out or order in. Feel like going out? You could go to a different restaurant every night by boat or car.

After dinner, challenge someone to a round of corn-hole/bags on the upper deck, start a week-long ping-pong competition under the lights, get someone to push you on the tire swing or catch fireflies/lightening bugs. At some point, you'll probably want to kick back in an Adirondack chair around the lakeside fire pit, there’s plenty of kindling and firewood on the property, and end a beautiful evening roasting marshmallows and stargazing.

The home and it's property is only used by your group during your stay. Nothing is shared with anyone else on property.

Guests may access the entire house, it's decks, the long driveway with parking for 8+ vehicles, and the yard. Half of the double boat house is fully accessible and set up for guests to enjoy all the amenities it stores (as described above) and it's boat ramp and kayaks. Guests have exclusive use of the pier, overwater gazebo, boat dock, jet ski dock and the swim platform anchored in the lake.
