This is a very comfortable, modern holiday house with most conveniences.
The main living area combines a full-sized kitchen, dining & lounge. While you prepare dinner in the fully equipped kitchen, the other guests can gather around the granite-topped island & join in. The kitchen has a built in oven, ceramic hob, extractor & microwave. The dishwasher & dual sink are built into the central island. The pantry has a decent supply of plates, cups & glasses etc. We've recently installed a fully automatic espresso machine.
There's a 6 place dining table & the lounge features a large comfortable leather lounge suite. We've got a 55" TV with Netflix & FreeView. You can bring movies on a USB stick & plug them into the TV. You can connect your mobile device to the bluetooth speaker (a Bose SoundLink Mini II) for music.
Sliding doors open out to the front & back decks. The two biggest bedrooms & the study also open to decks.
The bathroom has a sliding door providing access from the master bedroom through the walk-through wardrobe. So it's almost an en-suite. The bathroom has a proper tile and glass shower.
If you want to combine a bit of work with pleasure, the study has a decent sized desk. You can connect to the Internet via wireless or cable.
There is also a fold-up bed if needed.

Additionally, we own the mostly empty section next door. You are welcome to park on it provided the ground isn't too soft (unlikely to be a concern in the summer). This is a great place to park boats, and for children to play. Note that any guests staying at No 2 will be getting the same advice, so you may need to share.
It's worth noting that there are some shipping containers at the rear of this section. One is mine, and the others belong to our neighbour, who owns Hunting & Fishing. You may see people access these containers occasionally.
And naturally there's parking on the street.
You will have the house to yourselves - we will be 2 hours away in Christchurch.
We are located almost at the end of the peninsula, up top. There's no through traffic, so it's lovely & quiet. It's within walking distance to the beach, the peninsula walkways, the seal colony & 5 minutes drive from the town centre.
We recommend having a car to get around Kaikoura - you can walk into town but it's a bit of an expedition and uphill on return. We have heaps of off-road parking for cars and boats.
There won't be anyone to greet you on arrival - entry is by key that you will retrieve from a lock-box.
Also, while there are non-perishables such as tea & coffee, we don't supply milk, bread etc.
