Our 6-bedroom home is cleverly designed as two separate units, each with 3 bedrooms. This listing is for the front unit, which is fully self-contained and ideal for smaller groups or families.
Separated from the rear unit by a garage, the two spaces are connected only by a shared laundry behind the garage. The entrance to the front unit is via a private deck with wide eaves for shelter. At the back of the house, there’s an additional deck with outdoor furniture and a BBQ—ideal for al fresco dining or enjoying the peaceful surroundings.
Inside, the master bedroom boasts a super-king bed, ensuite bathroom, and sliding door to the deck. The second bedroom features a split super-king bed that can be configured as a single bed or super-king—let us know your preference. The third bedroom offers a comfortable king bed. A second bathroom complements the ensuite, ensuring convenience for everyone.
The open-plan living area combines the kitchen, dining, and lounge. The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, electric hob, extraction fan, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, and granite-topped island—a great hub for socializing. The lounge has a leather suite, a 65" TV with Netflix and Disney+, and a dining table for six.
The shared laundry includes a washing machine and dryer. While the garage is typically off-limits, fishing enthusiasts can request access to the fridge and freezer inside.

The rear unit is rarely occupied, as we no longer rent it separately due to soundproofing limitations. Occasionally, I might stay there but will ensure minimal noise.
If you're traveling with a large group, consider renting the entire 6-bedroom house or the additional 3-bedroom home next door—perfect for keeping everyone together while maintaining space and privacy!
The property offers plenty of parking options:
• A long driveway runs up the left side of the house. However, please avoid parking here if there are guests in the rear unit (unlikely), as it could block their access.
• A spacious area in front of the house provides convenient off-street parking.
• A small space on the right side of the house is also available.
We also own the mostly empty section next door, which you’re welcome to use for parking, provided the ground isn’t too soft (unlikely in summer). This space is perfect for parking boats or letting children play. Keep in mind, any guests staying in the rear unit or at No. 6 will receive the same advice, so the area may be shared.
At the rear of the empty section are some shipping containers—one is ours, and the others belong to our neighbor, who owns Hunting & Fishing. Occasionally, you might see people accessing these containers.
Street parking is also available if needed.
You’ll have the house entirely to yourselves, ensuring privacy and a relaxing stay. We’re based in Christchurch, about two hours away, but we’re always available by phone or messaging if you need assistance.
Our home is nestled near the end of the peninsula, in a peaceful and quiet cul-de-sac with no through traffic—perfect for a relaxing getaway and safe for children. Enjoy being within walking distance to the beach, scenic peninsula walkways, and the seal colony. For dining, shopping, or exploring, the Kaikoura town centre is just a 5-minute drive away. It's an ideal location to unwind while staying close to local attractions and natural beauty.
A car is essential for getting around Kaikoura and fully enjoying the area. While walking to town is possible, it’s a bit of a hike, especially on the uphill return. Luckily, our property offers plenty of off-road parking, with ample space for cars, boats, or trailers, making it easy to bring everything you need for your adventure.
Your arrival will be self-check-in via a key from a secure lockbox, ensuring a smooth and flexible entry.
While we provide non-perishables like tea and coffee for your convenience, please note that milk, bread, and other perishables are not supplied, so you may want to bring those with you. Feel free to settle in and make yourselves at home!
