Cozy 6th Ave Bungalow w/ Sauna, BBQ, Firepit & AC - Tacoma

Cozy 1920's bungalow within walking distance to the vibrant & eclectic 6th ave with boutique shops, live music, great pubs and some of Tacoma's finest restaurants. Treat yourself to some R&R with unique amenities such as an infrared sauna, aromatherapy and wood burning fireplace. The gourmet kitchen has everything you need including Vitamix Blender, Instapot, Berkey Filtered Water, Keurig & more.

Within close proximity to all that is offered on 6th ave, you'll enjoy the fully renovated (inside & out) bungalow that provides a great sanctuary and relaxing stay. The highlights are the large gourmet kitchen with everything you need to cook great meals and the infrared sauna and wood-burning fireplace (a rarity these days!). The fully fenced & landscaped backyard is the perfect place to enjoy the summer days and nights with a new gas BBQ and yard games. I've also recently added a small couch and fire pit (only available from about April 1st to Nov).

CLEANING
Cleanliness is extremely important so please share with me if you feel there is any issue with cleanliness. Thorough cleaning and sanitizing is done in accordance with the Airbnb Enhanced Cleaning program and guidelines. We go the extra mile with an air purifier used to clean the air before your stay and is provided for you to use as well.

Please note this is a pet friendly home so while I do everything I can to get all the dog hair, there might be a few hairs left behind! They can come out of nowhere at times. Also, please note the home was built in the 1920's with many original features some of which aren't shiny and new. They're not dirty, just original :)

HEAT/AC
There is central heat and AC with a ductless unit and it does heat and cool quite well (less so in the bedroom) until you get to extreme temps so the house is equipped with both ceiling and portable fans as well as portable heaters.

BEDS/SLEEPING
The main queen bed is a new Nectar mattress with high quality cotton linens. The bedroom includes both blackout curtains and a white noise machine for sleeping in if you want!

If you need an additional bed there is a standup queen size air bed available that can be set up in the dining area for you. Alternatively, there is a sleeping mat for the floor. Please inquire if you need more than 1 bed and want the big queen air mattress setup.

SAUNA/AROMATHERAPY
To help in the R&R department don't miss the spa grade infrared sauna! It heats up to 149 degrees and includes various light therapy settings depending on your mood. Don't worry we clean thoroughly before your stay! Also included is a diffuser with various essential oils if aromatherapy is your thing.

WiFi/TV/Surround Sound/Music
High-speed internet of course is incuded along with a big screen 52" TV. We include Roku for getting all your streaming accounts and if you'd like access to Youtube TV or Netflix for example please inquire. A big bonus is the Sonos surround system providing a theater experience with full immersive sound for movie nights! You might just enjoy some music as well and we can include Spotify to play music through the Sonos system.

PETS
* One pet is allowed and subject to approval.
* Dog must be well behaved and avoid excessive barking at all times especially when outside.
* The back yard is fully fenced and a great spot for your pooch but please make sure they aren't destroying the plants :) So throwing the ball in the back is a no go unfortunately (that's from experience where my dog destroyed the fence and more than a few plants!) There are some great dog parks around the area and we can provide recommendations for you.
* Please be sure to pick up after your pet
* At the end of your stay please vacuum all pet hair (there is a HEPA filter vac available)
* Pets can't be left alone inside or outside. There is a crate available for use along with a dog bed and a few toys if you need to leave your pet for a stretch of time.

Keyless entry is provided for hassle free check in and no keys to worry about. IMPORTANT: do not lock the knob, just use the keyless pad to lock and unlock or you'll be locked out.

PARKING
Generally pretty good but it is street parking only and availability in the front of the house varies especially on the weekend. There is usually a spot within a few feet though.

Safe, family friendly neighborhood just a few blocks from the heart of 6th ave. Great breakfast spots, restaurants, coffee shops and bars within walking distance but far enough away to avoid the noise and parking issues.

This has been a home for the past 7 years (not a rental) with a lot of work going into renovating it and preparing to make it the best Airbnb possible. We hope you feel like it's a home away from home rather than just another rental! We welcome all feedback and will do everything possible to make sure this is a top stay in the Tacoma area.
