Cliffside Hideaway is a cozy, seasonal lakeside retreat on Black Lake, designed for guests seeking a private and relaxed getaway. Perched above the water, this two-bedroom, one-bath cabin comfortably accommodates up to seven guests and offers a private dock down below.

Guests reach the cabin by walking up a set of stairs to a private entrance, where a deck welcomes you with seating for four and a beautiful lake view. Inside, the cabin opens into a comfortable living area that includes a renovated kitchen, dining area with seating for four, and a cozy living area. The sofa coverts to a full-size bed, providing additional sleeping space. The cabin includes two bedrooms, designed with families in mind. One bedroom features a queen bed and stunning lake views. While the second bedroom includes a twin-over-full bunk bed with a twin trundle, making it ideal for children or additional guests. A newly updated bathroom is located nearby and features a walk-in stand-up shower. Guests can enjoy relaxing on the deck or head down the stairs to their private dock for fishing or spending time by the water. Please note that access to both the cabin and the dock requires the use of stairs.

Located within Back Bay Campground, Cliffside Hideaway offers a private setting with full access to campground amenities, including a heated pool, 24/7 arcade, walking trails, and a camp store offering seasonal rentals and activities. Whether you’re spending the day out on the lake, exploring the campground, or unwinding back at the cabin, everything you need for a relaxed lake stay is close at hand.

Cliffside Hideaway is currently undergoing off-season renovations and will be ready for the upcoming season. Planned updates include a renovated kitchen, bathroom, deck, and all-new furnishings. Photos may not reflect the latest improvements, but updated photos will be added once renovations are complete. All descriptions represent the updated features.

Guests enjoy exclusive access to the house, decks, and dock. A private driveway is available and accommodates up to two vehicles.

During the off-season, please contact our staff through the app for assistance. During the on-season (May 1 through September 30), when the camp store is open, guests are welcome to stop by with any questions. For emergencies, please call the phone number listed in the guestbook.

Back Bay Campground and Cottages is a family-owned and operated lakeside retreat located on the southern shores of Black Lake in upstate New York. Known as one of New York’s premier fishing and boating destinations, the campground sits just minutes from the scenic St. Lawrence River and the charming town of Hammond, NY. The property is thoughtfully designed for guests who want to enjoy the lake at a relaxed pace without the crowds and noise of large commercial resorts. Guests enjoy easy access to the water and docks, along with shared amenities such as a heated swimming pool, arcade, and picnic areas. An on-site camp store offers convenient rentals, including boats, kayaks, and lawn games, so you can fully enjoy the lake without leaving the property.

Back Bay Campground is located on a quiet lakeside road and is accessible by car only. Public transportation and ride share services are not available in the area; therefore, guests must plan to arrive with their own vehicle. Once on the property, guests can easily explore the campground on foot, including access to amenities and walking paths. Cell service may be limited in certain areas due to the rural setting.

Cliffside Hideaway is currently a seasonal cabin and is available from May 1 through September 30. We plan to open the cabin year-round in the future, so please check back for updates.
