About this place
Tucked on a still lane named for the herons that wade its lagoons, Heron's Haven is the quiet side of Sea Pines — a short walk from the sand, a one-minute stroll from a near-private neighborhood pool, and a half-mile pedal from the marshes of the Forest Preserve. Three bedrooms, a lagoon-view deck, and room for up to ten mean the whole family (four-legged members included) can spread out and slow all the way down.
**Newly renovated with love by experienced Airbnb Superhosts!
The space
Some places put you near the beach. Heron's Haven puts you somewhere quieter — eighth row back, on a glassy lagoon, on a small residential lane where the loudest thing most mornings is birdsong over the water. You're a five-minute walk from the Atlantic, but you'd never know the crowds were there.
Inside, the home is laid out for easy, unhurried living. Two main-floor bedrooms each sleep two in a proper bed (never an air mattress in sight) so two sets of adults can each have their own room and their own quiet: a king in one, a queen in the other. Between them, two full baths (one with a tub for a long soak or an easy kids' bath) keep mornings frictionless.
Upstairs, the light-filled loft is the third bedroom and, let's be honest, the kids' favorite room in the house: two bunk beds, each a roomy twin-over-full, plus a pack-and-play for the littlest traveler. It's the configuration that makes Heron's Haven brilliant for multifamily trips — grandparents and parents below, cousins or friends stacked happily above, everyone under one roof without anyone on top of each other.
Outside is where the Lowcountry does its work. The deck looks out over the lagoon, where herons keep their patient watch and the light goes gold in the late afternoon. It's a morning-coffee, last-glass-of-wine, let-the-day-stretch kind of space. Slow down with us at Heron's Haven.
OUR NEIGHBORHOOD
Heron's Haven sits inside The Sea Pines Resort, 5,000 gated acres of maritime forest, lagoons, and white-sand beach laced with 40-plus miles of biking trails. The genius of this particular spot is that it's close to everything and far from the crowd!
The beach: a 5-minute walk (about 1,400 feet). Toes in the sand before your coffee's cold.
The neighborhood pool: 250 feet. Roughly a one-minute stroll.
Sea Pines Forest Preserve: a half-mile bike ride to 175 acres of marsh, lagoons, and rookery. This is the heron's country, and the reason the name fits.
Sea Pines Beach Club: 0.8 miles by bike, for the full beach-day setup.
Coligny Beach Park: 1.8 miles, for shops, casual eats, and the island's liveliest stretch of sand. Our family enjoys Lowcountry Celebration Park!
Harbour Town: 2.7 miles to the candy-striped lighthouse, the marina, sunset drinks, and dinner on the water.
Mornings on the lagoon, afternoons on the sand, evenings in Harbour Town....all from a lane quiet enough to hear the water.
Guest access
The entire home is yours - every bedroom, the kitchen, the living spaces, and that lagoon-view deck.
Just 250 feet down the lane sits the neighborhood pool. Because it serves only this small pocket of homes, it has none of the crowd or clamor of a big resort pool. It's the kind of pool you can have nearly to yourselves, a minute's barefoot walk from the front door. And an outdoor shower awaits you when you get back from the pool or beach!
Two parking spots are reserved onsite, and your Sea Pines gate pass gives you the run of the resort's beaches, trails, and Harbour Town. Beach chairs, a beach wagon and gear are stocked and ready, so you can head for the sand the moment you arrive.
Other things to note
The whole family's welcome, four legs included. We're a pet-friendly home and genuinely glad to have your well-behaved pet with prior approval. A small added cleaning fee covers the extra care and cleaning.
This is a calm, residential corner of Sea Pines. It draws guests who want stillness and slow mornings. Quiet hours and a love of the neighborhood are part of the deal.
We share the island with herons and sea turtles. From May to October, sea turtles nest on these beaches — we ask guests to keep beach-facing lights off after dark and fill in any sand holes. A small kindness that keeps this place magic.
Please note that our home is only accessible by a set of stairs leading to the front door. So ensure you understand accessibility of the property prior to booking.
Entrance into Sea Pines Resort can be through the Ocean Gate or Greenwood Gate, though we are closer to the Ocean Gate. Gate passes can be purchased at the Gate House upon arrival via cash or credit card and are valid for one car for one week.
You are only permitted to park on the paved parking pad directly in front of the home. Motorcycles, golf carts and E-bikes are not permitted anywhere inside of Sea Pines Resort.
