Welcome to Magie Blue: A Sanctuary of Peace & Legacy I am Ukrainian, originally from Kyiv, and have lived in Bethesda, Maryland, for over three decades. We bought this property in 2007 with my late husband, David Burwell, envisioning it as our sanctuary and retirement retreat. Many of you may know David’s name or have experienced his life’s work; as a lawyer by training and the co-founder and CEO of Rails-to-Trails Conservancy for 16 years, his legacy lives on in the thousands of miles of bike trails he helped build across the country. David dedicated his life to saving the environment, climate, nature, and animals, and this condo was meant to be our personal piece of paradise—a place to finally rest after his years of advocacy. As the saying goes, we plan, and God changes our plans; David passed long before his retirement. Today, I run this property by myself with a deep sense of pride and joy. It is my "happy place" where I recharge physically and spiritually. To me, this location is truly therapeutic—the azure waters, the mountain views, and the vibrant island flowers create a space where you feel close to God and the Universe. I named my condo Magie Blue because that is exactly what it is—magic. From the healing power of the ocean to the incredible kindness of the island people, every moment here is a gift. I take immense pride in hosting and maintaining the highest standards to ensure my guests feel the same spiritual and physical refreshment that I do.
