The fisherman from around the area visit Jekyll's pier daily.  They find friendly folks, a convenience store for fisherman and hopefully a fish on the end of their pole.  The pier also makes an excellent nature viewing platform, with views of St. Simon's sound and dolphins playing in the water.  Sunsets from the pier are gorgeous sights and should not be missed by our Jekyll Sandpiper guests.

Jekyll has many fishing options, including dockside, shoreside, charter boat, and seining. You can often see fishermen at The Fishing Pier on the northern tip of the island, in the surf all along Jekyll's beaches, and even fishing around the island's salt-water pond.

My husband Mike and I love to travel and have been throughout the 50 US states, Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean. Africa, Australia, and New Zealand are still on our destination list, but we've visited all the other continents save Antarctica, which is a tad too cold for our tastes.

We've both worked in the software industry, in telecommunications and banking, and Mike enjoys writing fiction. Mike speaks Spanish fairly fluently, which helps on our travels, and he can speak a bit of Mandarin, Russian, French, and German. Right now is is learning Dutch.
