Truckee vacation rentals

My son and I had a great stay at Janelle's home! Highly recommended Airbnb experience -- thanks for the gracious and authentic hospitality! Everything in the description is accurate and complete. Will definitely want to book again. Thanks Janelle for a great stay! Some details: Guest Room: spacious for 2 people with a comfortable king (or queen, not sure) bed. There is room for an air mattress for another +1-2. DVD + TV in room (no cable). It is a few stair steps down from the rest of the house. Bathroom: not en suite, need to walk back through the living room foyer and to a short hall. Very clean and tidy for our use. Living room: Shared with the family, but very tastefully decorated, nice vibe. Great place to hang out with Beverly, the black Labrador Retriever! Kitchen: Very clean and tidy, also tastefully decorated with all amenities. Janelle was generous to allow us to share dinner with her and her family when the snow conditions made us not want to leave the house. Very generous with her groceries in the refrigerator, thanks for sharing breakfast fixings and beverages. High quality coffee with both Nespresso and a regular coffee maker Location: VERY convenient -- had great meals at the nearby Japanese (Drunken Monkey) and Thai (Thai Delicacy) restaurants, close to Truckee Airport, Northstar, downtown Truckee. Dog: Beverly is a very sweet dog -- she doesn't bark a lot, she is good with kids, likes to be petted, we love Beverly!

Great house in a beautiful location. Close to sugar bowl and easy to get to. We enjoyed the hot tub and game room, and all the beds were comfortable and clean. The house has a comfy layout for social interactions and beautiful views out the back. There were a few places that could have been cleaner when we arrived; the bear bin outside had quite a bit of trash already in it. There were some leftover clothes in the dryer and the dishwasher was full of dishes (they were clean, but we did have to put them away). These were minor issues but we would have liked to see those things taken care of in advance. I would stay here again; Monica was polite and prompt and we had no trouble during our stay. Thanks!

I had an amazing stay at this Airbnb! The space was fantastic, beautifully decorated, and had a cool, modern vibe. What I loved most was how quiet and peaceful it was, making it the perfect retreat. We had a fun time playing board games and relaxing in the jacuzzi. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible star gazing experience. Being away from the city lights, we had a clear view of the night sky. It makes this Airbnb even more memorable. This Airbnb is a gem for large groups and families! With its spacious layout and numerous rooms, it comfortably accommodated all of us. One thing that really stood out was the hosts' quick response time. Whenever we had questions or needed assistance, they were incredibly prompt in their replies. Their responsiveness made our stay hassle-free and enjoyable. Highly recommended this place!

Thank you, Charles and Joanne, for hosting us and sharing such a lovely place. Clean, spacious, and comfortable house in Truckee! House looks the same as what is shown in the pictures. There was plenty of room and beds for everyone to sleep comfortably. We particularly enjoyed the spacious entertainment room and the pool/ping-pong table. Just what we were looking forward to. Check-in/check-out instructions were clear and hospitality was great. Wifi is good for anyone looking to get some work done (we were 11 of us hogging the wifi and it was smooth irrespective). The location is perfect and there are quite a few grocery stores available nearby. Bunch of hiking spots nearby with Donner Lake and Tahoe within driving distance. We planned for a weekend getaway with friends and this was a perfect house to get us under one roof! I definitely plan to go back with my friends and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a similar experience. House was sanitized and air-gapped before and after our stay. So no need to worry about sanitization needs amidst the COVID crisis.

First off, James is extremely nice, always easy to communicate with as he responds quickly, and he is so personable it never felt awkward to ask him a simple question. Now the house! It is in a perfect location if you don’t have a set itinerary and want to be close to everything, which is exactly what we wanted. Downtown Truckee is 5 minutes away by car, as is a parking lot to the Legacy trail which also has access to the Truckee River. We are a family of 3; my husband and 18 month old son Odin and the playhouse on the property was a big hit for our little guy, such a creative touch. The only thing I would say, and this is nothing at fault with the house, is that if you have a toddler be careful of the balconies as they do have a large gap along the entire bottom of the railing where a kiddo could slip under easily. We just didn’t let Odin go out there and it wasn’t ever an issue. The property is beautiful and super quiet, which if you’ve stayed in Truckee you know that the train can be a nuisance as it runs at all hours. Although it can be heard here, it’s only when you’re awake and aware of what’s going on outside. The inside of the house is immaculate; a perfect mix of luxury and coziness. One constant problem we have faced with Air BnBs is the lack of cookware and dishes; so much so that we almost packed pans just in case. This kitchen however, is stocked with quality pots, pans, and dishes to be able to cook for and host a large amount of people. We loved our stay so much, James your home is truly a gem.

Ski trip with extended family members for a total of 5 of us and 2 small dogs. The accommodations were perfect for our needs. Central heating works well which is a must (wasn’t the right season to test AC) and no issues with hot water. It could take a couple minutes for the cold water to evacuate the pipes before hot came out of the faucet, particularly on first use, but it always came and it wasn’t merely lukewarm, fortunately they have no plumbing issues because the water would be truly hot, something very necessary in the cold of winter. Very cozy ambiance, feels modern. Everything our family was looking for. Not far from several ski resorts. Feels a bit out of the way driving there, which was initially a negative, but it was nice and peaceful at night which helped us rest and reset for following days. Will certainly be looking to stay here again, particularly for medium/large groups.
