"One cannot look into the eyes of an animal and tell me there is no soul." Richard Kipling.

Winged Ambassadors was created when Dale Arrowood, an avid falconer, realized that many people could not recognize many kinds of birds that lived right in people’s backyard. We are blessed in South Georgia to have an abundance of birds in our area. Because so many birds are elusive, well-camouflaged, non-native, or all of the above, many people had no idea that these birds even existed or what impact they had on the world. Dale uses live bird shows and displays to entertain and educate the public on all kinds of raptors in a fascinating way. The master falconer Dale Arrowood has found a happy medium that he can use to teach people of all ages about these amazing birds.

Georgia Veterans State Park is proud to welcome Winged Ambassadors to the park. They will be visiting on April 21st and will have 3 shows. There will be many birds to see and learn about. The event is free with a park pass. Winged Ambassadors will be located at the RC Flying Field inside the park. Please visit www.wingedambassadors.org for more information on this event.
Our lake house is located just a few miles from Georgia Veterans Park. Staying with us will make traveling to the park very simple and convenient.

In fulfillment of a life-long dream shared by two very close friends, Dale Arrowood and Ed Carswell, Winged Ambassadors was founded with a mission to promote environmental conservation. The program was uniquely designed to be interesting, educational, and safe, while always promoting the important environmental message they had to share. These programs use a diverse cast of birds with a wide variety of abilities to help show the world what these birds are, why they are important, and how they impact us. The message Winged Ambassadors deliver is one of hope. They hope that the amazing American bald eagle will continue to recover from the impact that DDT once had on its population. Hope that the Andean condor will be able to fly free without worry of extinction. They hope that the generations to come will have the privilege to be able to marvel at the great peregrine falcon. Winged Ambassadors hopes that we humans can coexist with not just the beautiful raptors that are presented, but with all wildlife and with nature as a whole.

Like all things, Winged Ambassadors has experienced change. New birds have come in, dialogue in the program has been altered, trainers have come and a few have gone, but the original hopes and dreams that Dale and Ed shared during the early days of Winged Ambassadors have never changed. They have been fortunate enough to celebrate many accomplishments both through their own efforts and the efforts of conservationists everywhere. One of the most notable accomplishments was when the peregrine falcon and the American bald eagle were officially removed from the endangered species list after their populations had made a recovery. However, the work will never be finished. Their job is to remind the world of the nature that surrounds us, and to continue to protect the species we live alongside. While some issues are resolved, new issues will always present themselves. Because of this, Winged Ambassadors will always continue to strive towards helping the world appreciate these magnificent birds. At Winged Ambassadors, the humans are just there to keep the show going. The raptors are the ambassadors, spreading a message of mindfulness and co-existence. The birds are masters at what they do, and Winged Ambassadors are sure they will be able to show you the importance and the beauty of raptors and the natural world without even saying a word.
