Heard Natural Science Museum & Wildlife Sanctuary

I was a trail guide at the Heard for about 10 years in the 90s and 00s and it is a wonderful place. I still go with my grandkids and visitors. They have periodic, special exhibits and just the plain old vanilla Heard is lots of fun. Well-marked trails (many of them well-shaded for hot Texas summer weather). The museum is small and accessible and there's a small gift shop. Nearby is a science center with occasional events and great classes. Check it out.
