Houfy Update Oct 27, 2023

It’s Friday PM and I thought let me give you some food for thought this weekend.. I look forward hearing your ideas/remarks/problems etc.

We are actively searching for the best solution for Houfy going forward but before:

I would like to make 1 thing clear: I do not believe I have ever said or written Houfy will remain free forever or for the next 40 years.. so here we go:

1. To remain “free” we need a better way to verify hosts & make sure hosts actually want to be on our advertising platform (with updated pricing/calendars etc) The only way to do this is by asking for a one time small payment per host (not per listing) as well as a government issued ID. This will keep our adverting platform free from scammers and remain a secure place with up to date listings for guests to book homes/places to stay. We have set the price for this at 5.99 USD. (Of course we can change this price whenever we want - I just want to throw out the idea. - Maybe a yearly renewable fee)

All hosts will receive a Houfy Verified Badge.

2. Our Lite plan: We believe a small monthly charge of $7.99 per listing + 1$ per additional listing to be fair for using certain Houfy features - Pricelabs connection/Ownerrez connection and others. (Hiding price compare etc..)

3. Our Premium Plan: these members create websites and use our powerful widgets on their own websites without marketing Houfy. Here the price will be 9.99 + 1 $ per add. listing. (I do not believe there to be other websites outside Houfy who can offer this service at this price) = Super fair!

We will start charging the “Premium” members before any other members on our platform and we still need to program this. We will inform at least 1 month before. Probably early Q1 2024.

Listings will not be marketed for hosts in any category as the above situation will give revenue to most probably just cover the costs for running Houfy. (I intend to add more (limited) funds for marketing purposes myself to grow Houfy faster in 2024)

NOW: I truly believe the plan above to be fair for all of you using Houfy and our tools.

Next: The future: I change plans constantly FYI. I would like our hosts & guests to be able to own a piece of Houfy = own stock. As we have operated for free without much income; I would like to see what we can do in 2024 and then in 2025 offer our members a form of ownership. This has somehow always been in the plan. Initially with coins - a long time ago.. but now we can find ways to make it more serious. (Houfy will then in 2025 have something to proof.. revenue and growth to you members and potential investors afterwards if we choose so.)

Hosts who refer other hosts should and will be rewarded - we need to properly program this in 2024.
