You really need to check this out  Even if you just drive through; it's a unique place.  The restaurant is good and right on the beach.  

Paa Mul is so close you could take a taxi and go for lunch. They have a nice restaurant right on the water and a very quirky vibe. It's an RV park like you've never seen before If you're driving to Tulum or Coba, make a point to stop at Paa Mul for lunch.

Here's a really fun stop.  A Monkey Sanctuary!!   They have much more than just monkeys.  There are also zebras and other exotic animals. The one thing they all have in common.  Someone didn't want them anymore. Go support them. They are doing great work. 

Our Sanctuary is a place where you can find a great variety of primates and other rescued animals. From the majestic and emblematic spider monkey to beautiful rescued capuchin monkeys and ring-tailed lemurs from the faraway lands of Madagascar. We have been owners of our condo for 24 years.  Playa was just a sleepy little fishing village at that time.  My how things have changed. We have all the modern conveniences that you could possibly desire and still enjoy the natural beauty of Playa del Carmen.  Our condo is a one of a kind, oversized, corner unit within 50 feet of the beach.  You will really enjoy the view from our balcony.  We hope that you enjoy this little piece of paradise as much as we do.
