We have two outdoor fire options at Dreams Come True Cottage - a propane fire table and a Mesa XL Solo stove fire. Here are some guiding principles:
- ADULTS only
- NEVER leave a fire unattended
- BE KIND to our neighbors and remember that voices carry when outdoors. Please observe our posted quiet hours
- Township regulations require all outdoor fires to be placed at least 15 feet from any structure
Option 1. Propane Fire Table
This small fire pit table is fueled by an attached propane tank in the backyard. The instructions are found on the table itself, but here are some additional items to note:
- Leave the fire table covered when not in use, but don't replace the cover until the fire table has cooled off
- The provided fire rocks should be piled over the entre flame area EXCEPT for the small square box. That small metal box should not be covered.
- Turn off the propane tank at the nozzle when not in use
Option 2. Mesa XL Solo Stove
Solo stoves have a great design that reduces smoke and sparks and creates a longer, more efficient flame than traditional open fires.
Here are some important tips:
- The Mesa XL is kept in a storage bag in the three-season room. Included with the stove are the stove, the stand, and the top fire/spark ring. You must use all three components.
- A supply of firestarters is provided, but you can use small pieces of cardboard, dryer lint, and other items to help start the fire. Please use the firestarter sparingly and not as the only item burned in the stove.
- The stove can use pellets or firewood. Wood should be no more than 7" in length. Guests supply their pellets or firewood.
- The Solo stove should ONLY be used OUTSIDE, ON OUR PROPERTY. It cannot be used inside the house, the three-season room, on the deck, or at the beach.
- The Solo stove (with the stand) can be used on the picnic tabletop or placed on the ground to enjoy the fire.
- After the fire has burned out and has cooled completely, empty the ash and remaining contents into the trash. Return the stove, stand, ring, and firestarter to the storage bag and place them in the three-season room.
Hot tip: Roasting sticks are in the three-season room with the grilling tools. They are for use with the Solo Stove only.
