About this place

The Gathering House | Buxton | 6 Beds

The Gathering House is a stylish 6-bedroom townhouse in Buxton, sleeping up to 12.

Just 10 mins from the Opera House and Pavilion Gardens, and a short drive to Peak District walks, it's ideal for group getaways, walking retreats, and midweek corporate stays.

Enjoy themed rooms with lockable doors, fast WiFi, private outdoor space, and 2 free parking spots.

After booking, you'll get our digital guide with local tips, discounts, and our direct site.

Entering The Gathering House through a dark, characterful hallway with gold-framed mirrors and a chandelier, the Tiger Room is immediately to the left — a quiet ground-floor retreat with a double bed, smart TV, desk, and ample wardrobe space.

Continue up two steps to a small landing, where a door on the left opens into the main living and dining area. This space features a large group dining table, a comfortable sofa, and another smart TV — ideal for gathering after a day in the Peak District. The lounge flows seamlessly into a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and a back door leading to a small patio area. From here, steps provide direct access to the rear parking space (1 of 2 on-site).

Upstairs, the first floor hosts:

- The Van Gogh Room – a bright and spacious double with smart TV, desk, and wardrobe

- The Silver Damask Room – a serene space with silver-themed decor, double bed, smart TV, and wardrobe

- Two shared bathrooms: the Tiger Bathroom and the Pink Bathroom

On the second floor, you’ll find:

- The Swirl Room – a calming retreat with soft tones, double bed, smart TV, desk, and wardrobe

- The Ochra Room – a warm, ochre-toned space with double bed, smart TV, and desk

- The Velvet Room – our boldest room, with black and mustard décor, glass desk, smart TV, and wardrobe

All bedrooms have lockable doors, making this home ideal for groups of 6 wanting private rooms, or larger groups up to 12 seeking a stylish shared space.

Guests have private access to the entire property, including all communal spaces — the spacious living and dining room is perfect for group dinners, meetings, or relaxed evenings.

You'll have full use of two bathrooms, a separate WC, and a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances — perfect for self-catering during longer stays.

Step outside to the patio garden, a peaceful outdoor space with direct access to the rear on-site parking.

Before your arrival, you’ll receive a unique self check-in key code and simple parking instructions, so you can arrive at your own pace.

We’re always available by message or phone if you need anything — whether it's a local recommendation or help with something in the house.

Before your stay, we’ll send you our digital welcome book with everything from check-in instructions to local tips and exclusive Buxton discounts.

Our goal is to make your stay comfortable, personal, and stress-free from start to finish.

This property is perfect for groups of 6 guests who each want their own private room — or larger groups up to 12.

Free on-site parking is available for two cars. Additional street parking is nearby. Early check-in may be available on request.

Buxton’s restaurants, shops, parks, and spa venues are all within walking distance, and we’re just 10 minutes from Poole’s Cavern and Peak District trailheads.

Hi, I’m Jenny — a creative soul with a background in fashion, a love of design, and a passion for meaningful travel. I’m someone who can turn my hand to anything, and I’ve spent years exploring new places, often packing up and moving country when inspiration strikes. I’m drawn to beautiful spaces, historical architecture, and anything with a story — which is exactly what led me to renovate our character-filled home in Buxton.

I believe the best stays reflect the local spirit, with thoughtful touches and a little help discovering the hidden gems — whether that’s a great breakfast spot or a scenic hiking trail. I'm here to make sure your time in Buxton feels special, seamless, and full of good memories.
