Le quartier de l'Hivernage, Marrakech
A short walk from the famous Djemaa el-Fna square, the Hivernage is one of Marrakech's most peaceful and elegant neighbourhoods. Its wide, tree-lined streets and grand colonial-era villas offer a calm retreat from the bustle of the medina - while keeping you close to everything the city has to offer.
Good restaurants, rooftop terraces and the beautiful Jardins de la Menara are all within easy reach. The perfect base for exploring Marrakech, with a quiet corner to come back to at the end of the day.
Getting around from the Hivernage is easy. Petit taxis - the city's small, inexpensive taxis - are plentiful and the most practical way to get around. For app-based rides with upfront pricing, inDrive and Careem are the most widely used options locally. The airport is just 10–15 minutes away by car, and the L19 bus also passes directly through the area for those travelling light. The Djemaa el-Fna and the entrance to the medina are around 15–20 minutes on foot along wide, pleasant boulevards.
If a couple is staying, and one of them is a Moroccan national, a marriage certificate will be required.
