Escape to a private forest retreat in Waimauku, perfect for couples wanting to slow down and recharge. Soak in the outdoor bath surrounded by trees, wake to birdsong and sunrise, & enjoy a peaceful, self-contained stay with a fully equipped kitchen, private deck, BBQ, & Wi-Fi.
Ideal for romantic getaways, quiet weekends, or a work-from-anywhere reset close to Auckland. The second bedroom adds flexibility for a child or friend, while the queen room remains the main stay experience.
The space
Tucked among pine and native bush, this private guesthouse is designed for quiet, comfortable stays where you can properly switch off. Built even for wet days. Listen to the storms rolling over the valley while wrapped in a blanket watching tv, or enjoy a steaming outdoor bath among the wet ferns.
The highlight is the outdoor bath, where you can soak day or night surrounded by forest views and fresh air. Inside, the space is bright, warm, and fully insulated, with a cozy lounge, Chromecast, Alexa speaker, and a well-equipped kitchen for easy meals.
The queen bedroom is set up for a restful night’s sleep, with blackout blinds and an electric blanket in winter.
A second bedroom with bunk beds offers extra flexibility for a child, a light sleeper, or guests wanting separate rooms.
Outside, enjoy your private deck, fire up the Weber BBQ, and settle into the calm of the surrounding bush. Whether you’re here for a romantic weekend, a solo reset, or a quiet break, the space is set up to help you unwind.

Guests have exclusive use of the entire guesthouse and outdoor area, including the private deck and outdoor bath.
The space is fully self-contained, with easy self check-in, simple arrival instructions, and convenient parking close to the cabin.
While the stay feels private and secluded, we’re nearby if needed and always happy to help while giving guests their space.
Other things to note
A few important notes before booking:
Best suited to couples, 2–3 adults, or families with older children.
The deck is unfenced, so the property is not suitable for infants or toddlers.
The second bedroom has bunk beds, with the top bunk best suited to a guest under 50kg.
Exterior security cameras are installed throughout the property for safety (only points to driveways and walking tracks).
We have young children and a small dog on the wider property, so you may occasionally see them near the driveway area by the main house or bottom paddock.
If planning on heavy cooking, please wipe down strong oil splatter before checkout to avoid extra cleaning charges.

Add 835B Ararimu Valley Road, Helensville/Waimauku to your phone or car maps. Once on Ararimu Valley Road, ensure your map doesn't take you to "Zanders Road".
Continue on Ararimu Valley Road until you get to 835B which is on top of the hill and almost at the end of Ararimu. (we are not on the driveway where our letterbox is situated if you are coming from Old North road, we are 1.3km north of our letterbox
There are two other houses on our shared drive. We are on the left at the end where the driveway splits into two. Gate will be left open look out for clearly marked house number/sign.
