DINING:

Hochatown has some great restaurants to choose from, but they do require a bit of planning to avoid frustration. Remember, you’re in the country and the slogan, “Living on Hochatime” rings true. Everything moves a little slower out there, so adopt the Hochatime attitude, plan accordingly and you will be a happy camper.

ABENDIGOS GRILL & PATIO- More upscale restaurant serving steak, roasted chicken and salmon dishes with a nice patio and live music on the weekends. Some of their concerts are ticketed so check the website and make reservations. 10050 N US Hwy 259, Broken Bow, 580-494-7222

MOUNTAIN FORK BREWERY- Pizza, burgers, salads, and wings, and of course lots of beer options there˼ They get crowded fast and don’t take reservations so go early or bring your patience˼ They have an awesome patio with games and a playground. GRATEFUL HEAD PIZZA OVEN & TAP ROOM- Great pizza to go with a nice little patio˼ They serve until they sell out for the day and lines can get long, so if you want to try Grateful Head plan accordingly. Often have live music. You can call ahead to pick up. 10251 US 259, Broken Bow, 580-494-6030

THE EAT OUT- Great burgers, salads, and you can sit at the bar and swing. Kids can enjoy s’mores by the bonfire, disk golf, and cornhole. 5 Cohn Rd, Broken Bow, 580-494-7655

BEAVERS BEND BREWERY- Great beer in a casual atmosphere with a multilevel dog friendly patio and lawn games. If you hit them just at the right time you can get a killer hot dog and quesadilla from the Wienery food truck parked out back. 46 Coho Rd, Broken Bow, 580-494-3455

ROLLING FORK TAKERY- Great sandwiches, salads, pasta dishes, charcuterie boards and the like to order ahead or walk in to grab and go. Perfect for grabbing on your way to the lake. 5 Coho Rd, Broken Bow, 580-494-7655

THE HOCHAHUT- For the best corn dog you’ve ever had, made to order and a hammock to swing on while you wait, head on over to the Hochahut, right on Hwy 259 just South of the cemetery. You’ll see the Corn Dog sign on the East side of the road. 9246 US 259, Broken Bow, 580-494-3647

For the latest information and guides we recommend the All Trails app. There are 12 great public hikes listed on the app. For first timers, we recommend the Friends Trail.
