The Bechtler House is located in Rutherfordton, NC, less than a half hour from A Touch of Luxury Cabin. Learn the history of America's first gold rush; it was in North Carolina, not in California. Christopher Bechtler minted the first gold dollar here, in Rutherford County. No charge for admission; however, donations are appreciated.

Operating Living Room TV Remote
Remote is in the bowl on the coffee table. Be sure everyone reads through this before turning on the tv. 1. Always aim the remote at the sensor to the left of the bookshelf when doing any function, including turning tv on and off. Just stand near the coffee table and it will work fine. No need to stand very close to the sensor.

What Should I Do When the Trash Is Full?
There are two bear proof trash cans at the end of your driveway. Feel free to use these during your stay if the kitchen trash compactor gets full. Otherwise, housekeeping will take care of emptying the trash compactor after you leave.
