The Highland Scenic Parkways: Intro into a corridor of wonder

Highway 150 - The Highland Scenic Parkway

Pocahontas County, WV (adjacent to Snowshoe)

The Highland Parkway from Snowshoe is the entry point into a series of trail heads for biking, world class single track, Cranberry Glades, Dolly Sods, Tea Creek, waterfalls, Williams River, and a host of other natural wonders The drive itself is an experience but be warned, it is quite hilly. To reach the highway turn south on 219(left from Snowshoe) and proceed to the top of Elk mt., then turn right and you are there. Note, the road is not cleared of snow and is often closed in the winter. For more details please see the official page at the forest service's page at www.fs.usda.gov/recarea/mnf/recarea/?recid=7011
