VINS unveils $1.7M treetop canopy walk
A new exhibit at the Vermont Institute of Natural Science in Quechee gives visitors a bird's-eye view from the treetops. "This is just one more piece of the visitor experience at VINS," said VINS' Chris Collier. And it's a piece -- like wings of the snowy owl in a nearby exhibit -- that will take you off the ground.

To our guests, members and neighbors: we have decided, for the health and safety of all of you, as well as of our employees, to remain closed to the public through mid to late May. We will re-evaluate at that time. We will continue to update you as we adjust our plans.

Vermont State Police
It's Spotlight Saturday! Each week, we'll introduce one of our Troo... pers, highlight their role in the VSP and show how they can . Trooper Kali Eyles is one of our newest Troopers. Originally from Cape Vincent, NY, Trooper Eyles graduated from The College at Brockport State University of New York before joining the State Police in July 2019.

One of our St. Johnsbury Troopers was on patrol along Interstate 91 when he witnessed a vicious assault - crows attacking a barred owl.
With an injured wing, the owl fell from a tree, and Trooper Weikel was able to get a hold of him and secured him in his cruiser. With the help of Vermont Fish & Wildlife Warden Jackman, the 'attempted murder' victim was safely transported to a rehabilitation facility.
