Rest & Relaxation! Log home, hot tub, fishing.
Check-in/checkout was easy and the communication of local places to check out by Greg was very much appreciated. The house was super cute. It was decorated with a black bear and woods theme. All the amenities were an awesome plus! The beds were so comfy (I purchased the same bed the day we got home). The linens were great! The kitchen was stocked with everything you could ask for. Pots, pans, crockpot, awesome tumblers, coozies, paper towels, napkins, tissues, all utensils you need. There were a plethora of K-cups, creamer, tea bags, honey and hot chocolate (We were all surprised). The cupboards were completely stocked with every seasoning you need to cook with. (We had packed our own and were surprised they were provided) A "smores making station" stocked with chocolate, marshmallows, Graham crackers and a "menu" of different types of smores we could make. The large, rustic dining room table provided ample room for many hours of food, fun and games. The master bath also had amenities supplied I would've never expected. For example, there was contact solution and case, deodorant, lotions, toothbrushes, toothpaste, sunscreen and the shower had built-in shampoo, conditioner and shower gel dispensers. The towels and washcloths were brand new and very soft. The laundry room came with a plenty of detergents and softeners. Ironing board and iron. There was a portable propane fire pit which was nice to be able to move to different locations (also brand new). The brand new outdoor
Bexley Family Friendly King Bed Staycation
I was very seriously thinking about purchasing a property in Bexley, Ohio and having it taken down to the studs and updating it and asking Ado to select the furniture and do the decoration for me. This property is charming and very clean. The master bedroom upstairs is enormous and, to my great chagrin, we let my daughter have that bedroom because it’s close to the children’s bedroom. The room my husband and I took, downstairs, next to a full bathroom, was also lovely and of good dimensions, only slightly less spectacular than the master bedroom upstairs. All 5 of us wanted to remain in the house forever. I am very tempted to give Ado’s property a negative review so that it will surely be available for me the next time I visit Bexley. But that would be the most colossal lie and I would never be released from Hell. Ado’s property is perfection. We only regret that we weren’t able to use the little porch/playroom or the swings because there was snow on the ground when we visited. I tried to leave the property as clean as possible with two little ones underfoot so that Ado will allow me to rent this property again and again and again and again. The house is an absolute delight in every way and Ado is a responsive and conscientious host. 25 Gold stars!!
Acorn Cottage at Hocking Vacations
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Acorn Cottage! The cottage itself was cozy and just the right size for us and our dog, making it feel like a true home away from home. We especially appreciated how thoughtfully the space was stocked (from kitchenware and utensils to extra toiletries like shampoo and conditioner). Having all these common essentials on hand took the stress out of our last-minute trip and allowed us to settle in and relax right away. We feel so lucky to have snagged an opening at Acorn Cottage. After spending our days exploring the beautiful local trails and taking in the scenery, we looked forward to unwinding each evening. The hot tub was a real treat, offering a peaceful spot to soak tired muscles, and the fire pit created a perfect atmosphere for roasting marshmallows and stargazing. One of the highlights for us were the baby gates available for both the front porch and hot tub deck. These thoughtful additions meant our velcro dog could remain close by, safely contained but still able to enjoy the fresh air with us. It allowed us to fully unwind in the hot tub or around the fire pit without worrying about our pup wandering off. All in all, Acorn Cottage provided the ideal base for our little adventure, and we’d happily return for another visit. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a welcoming and well-appointed getaway!
Vineyard View
Perfect place for a long weekend or longer. The house is exactly as described and shown...plus some great little "extras"...such as snacks, coffees, well stocked kitchen and laundry supplies. The location is great being right in the middle of the wine trail. You feel very remote, but only a few minutes to town(s). The hot tub is great after a full day of driving around. The living/dining room is great to stream your favorite shows and/or play some games. The master bedroom is very spacious and well laid out. The Mrs liked having the lighted vanity to do her makeup while I was showering. The one thing we didn't care for was how hard the bed was...a personal preference. The bathroom is well laid out and you'll appreciate that the water is softened. The host was excellent at communicating things along the way. We won't hesitate to stay here again.
Frog Hollow at Hocking Vacations
This may be long, so I'm sorry! I'll try to hit the key points. The location was perfect for being close to both Ohio University and all the parks in the area. It was about 30 minutes to the OU campus, which was the reason we were in the area. The parks are all super close as well. Frog Hollow is WAY more spacious than the cabins we usually stay in. The photos really don't do it justice. The house and outdoor areas are extremely well kept, clean, and every amenity you can think of is available. Liz has thought of everything, and her attention to detail is truly amazing. This is maybe an odd thing to notice but the water pressure in the shower is fantastic. I can't stand showers that don't have good water pressure, so it's an odd detail that I always notice. The bed and all of the bedding are super comfy, I slept like a baby! Last but not least, the whole home was just... nice. After long days of driving or running around with my daughter (it was mom's weekend at OU, so we packed a ton into every day) it was absolutely lovely to come back to a welcoming, cozy space and be able to relax and watch TV or settle into the hot tub. We will most definitely return, we visit my daughter often so I'm absolutely thrilled to have found such a wonderful place to stay.
Grey Pines at Hocking Vacations
Grey Pines is a wonderful and clean place to stay when visiting Hocking Hills. It is very easy to find and not a far drive from anything. Although it is on a main road you do not hear much traffic and still seemed private/secluded. The place is very well stocked for anything that you may need. There is a very informative binder that shows how to use everything in the place and has a lot of information on the area. The set up was perfect for our Best Friends get-a-way. The hot tub was great. We did not use the firepit or grills so we can't say anything about those. But if you do want to use the firepit, there is firewood for sale next door. The only issue we had was the jets on the hot tub on one side wouldn't turn up, but we didn't let that bother us. We would seriously consider staying there again if/when we come back to Hocking Hills.
Geneva Loft
My wife and I stayed for one week this February when we came to Geneva to watch our sons college swim meet at the SPIRE complex (only a few minutes away). Rennee's accommodation was perfect and exactly as described. The loft is spacious and filled with natural light but still warm and cozy during our cold Ohio winter stay. It was spotlessly clean and well appointed. The TV with multiple streaming channels was very nice for lazy afternoons during breaks in the meet. The shower has good pressure and is hot (very important, as we both hate showers that provide just a trickle). Renee is an excellent communicator and very efficient. Renee and her husband Josh went out of their way to ensure we had a great stay. The dishwasher failed during our stay and Josh swapped it out for a new one in 45 minutes!! How's that for service! Despite this they were very discreet and never intrusive. In fact the loft is very private, with a seperate entrance and doesn't feel like part of the main house.
SLICE OF HEAVEN lake front cottage with HOTTUB, fire pit, kayaks & Dog friendly!
Our family of 8 had a wonderful time at this house! We planned a quick family getaway before our youngest goes to college! The home is located on a beautiful ,peaceful , fun section of the lake! The neat clock tower and several nice waterfront restaurants are nearby! The views of the lake in the home are amazing! The home is tastefully and thoughtfully decorated. I loved all the lake decorations and wood flooring throughout ! The bedding was higher end and very comfortable! We had plenty of space , and the kitchen is well stocked. The coffeemaker brews in one minute and their was a tabletop ice maker for drinks! The patio is amazing for hot tub, playing games and long family talks around the awesome fire pit! The pontoon boat is nice and very comfortable, much nicer than a rental at 619. As the owners mention the stairs are very steep to get down and up from the home, not suited for elderly or disabled persons. The owners were very nice and responsive. The home felt very well cared for and we enjoyed some of the nice touches! I hesitate to write this review as I don’t want this secret to get out, we hope to be able to visit this house again !!
