Soundside home w/ Sound Access & Canal Boat Dock - Avon

Dragonfly Cove is a waterfront retreat on the Sound with beautiful water views, unforgettable sunsets, and a private 30-ft dock (bring your boat!)—ideal for kayaking, paddleboarding, fishing or simply enjoying the water. This spacious Avon home blends comfort, privacy, and relaxed coastal living. The fully equipped kitchen is a guest favorite, while bikes and a game room add fun for all ages. This home is professionally cleaned and includes linens.

The space
Private dock access on the canal to tie up your boat, fish off of, launch kayaks or watch the sunsets. Boat launch located nearby at the Avon Harbor. The sound access is located across the gravel road with stairs going down into the sound with steps and a platform that doubles as a mini dock om the Sound. Both are clearly marked with blue and white signs saying Dragonfly Cove. The decks offer beautiful Sunset and water views, a guest favorite.
There is a private backyard for playing, grilling or relaxing in the sun.

Guest access
The whole house, yard, sound access with steps down into the sound and dock are accessible to guests. There is a private gravel road to get to the house. Parking is in the front yard of the house. Please do not go on the beach area to the left or right of the path to the sound steps as these are the private property of our neighbors.

Our house is across the village from the Avon Pier giving you an excellent view of the Fourth of July fireworks from the second level deck.

Trip insurance is highly recommended as the weather in the Outer Banks can be unpredictable.

A Fishing license is required to fish and you will need to obtain a permit to drive on the beach.
We provided two kayaks, one 1 person kayak and one 2 person kayak. There is a stand up paddle board and four bikes available as well. We provide a small selection of life jackets but always recommend bringing your own to ensure a correct safe fit.
