Vermont vacation rentals

I wish I'd kept track of how many times a member of the family said "Wow!!" during our visit to Villa Ausblick. The views from the house and pool are spectacular and change often, depending on the time of day and weather. The house itself was spotless on arrival and tastefully decorated in an elegant but relaxed style. It is spacious, well laid out and we found all appliances to be in fine working order. Our eldest daughter appreciated the privacy of her own bedroom suite on the lowest level, while my wife and I enjoyed waking up to glorious mountain views up in the master bedroom. I gave the well-equipped kitchen a real work-out as our family tradition is that each member gets to choose their favorite meal for dinner. So, we grilled, we roasted in the oven, we sauteed, we boiled, etc. The hands-down favorite place to dine was out on the gazebo section of the front porch. Other than a quick jaunt to nearby Stowe and a few hours of shopping in Burlington our family wanted to stay on site, enjoying the pool and other amenities at the house. Our youngest is 12, but you could easily see how a family with children would enjoy a stay here (plenty of toys, a sand box and a tree house!). Had we been looking for a more active interaction with the area, local attraction information, restaurant menus and sightseeing brochures are provided. The closest supermarket/wine store is conveniently located less than 15 minutes away. You'd be hard pressed to know that civilization is in such close proximity. This was a perfect house choice for our Family of 5. We will not only recommend it to our friends, but look forward to a return visit in the future. Hygge House is beautiful, clean and has an extremely well stocked kitchen. It is just as pictured. It also has many fun features for family enjoyment. We loved the hot tub, sauna, corn hole and games. Beds were comfortable. The only aspect to be improved would be the tree house. It is not accessible and does not look to be supported safely by tree trunks. Perhaps removing the tree house from the website would be a good idea.

We live in Florida and our 4 and 7 yo boys wanted to see snow. That's why we booked this barn in Vermont in the hope of a lot of snow....As we arrived in upstate NY in January 2016 there was no snow...So we were a bit disappointed...BUT...as we arrived at the barn we were so happy to be there. The barn is amazing and way better then you see it at the presented pictures. It was very very cold at these days but we used the provided wood to heat up the two fireplaces and it was sooo cozy and nice there. We loved the specious floor plan, played board games in front of the main fireplace and enjoyed to cook in the very well equipped kitchen. Even a nice bath in the bath tub with a view over the property was fun. The upstairs area was occupied by the kids as their magic tree house. We even got some snow a couple of minutes drive away and the owner provided us with two sleds so the kids dream became true ;-) the areal is very nice, quiet and it feels like you are in the middle of no where...but just a couple of minutes away is Bennington with everything you need. The communication with Lars was very very good and uncomplicated. Everything we need was there. In the barn itself we loved the detailed and storytelling decoration. We loved it there! I would love to give more stars then just five...If you are a ski lover this will be the perfect place bc you can reach about 4 mountain resorts within less than an hour drive. But if you wanna go tubing make sure you will be there on a weekend since most of the areas offer this only on the weekends. Or maybe it was bc of the weather condition...I can imagine that this place will be nice in summer or fall as well so we are planning on coming back soon. Thank you very much Lars for everything! The house was very comfortable for our 2 families and dog. Went hiking and canoeing . Enjoyed the hot tub and the general ambience. Reached out to Lisa more than once and she was right there with a prompt, courteous response. Thank you so much. Mary

My wife, 16 month old daughter and I stayed at Holly and Scott's house for four nights and it was a fantastic experience. Holly was very responsive and informative prior to our arriving with perfectly detailed instructions for checking in and contact information in the event of any issues. She even suggested some infant safety measures, e.g. bringing a baby gate with us (our home does not have stairs so this was new to her and us) and other options to make our stay worry-free. On arrival to the house everything was spotless and fully stocked. Every time I turned around in the house there was exactly what I needed from a fully stocked spice cabinet to a stock of pencils to use for sudoku to an excellent supply of firewood. They had really thought about every possible thing that a visitor could want to make their stay as comfortable as possible. The beds were so comfortable and the flowing stream just across the driveway made for a very peaceful sleep every night. They have great instructions at the house to use the fireplace (which is a dream by the way!), bring up all manner of streaming TV services, and manage the climate control to be as comfortable as possible. They also have a cumulative list of local restaurants that they recommend as they have personally visited them. All in all, we had a marvelous, relaxing stay and I would personally bring my family back any time that we get the chance and would recommend it without reservation to anyone else looking for a great stay! After putting vacations on hiatus for 2 years because of "you know what", I decided to enjoy a cool, relaxing summer break in the beautiful mountains of Vermont with friends. In the past, I've been to Vermont in the fall for the glorious foliage and I've skied at Stratton many times over the past 25 winter seasons. The Stratton Ski Resort is a luxurious, first class resort with over the top amenities and I always enjoy first class service whenever I visit this area, be it fall or winter. The hosts at this property, however, provide the ultimate, top of the line, experience, to their rental guests. David and Wanda's condo is beautiful - everything looks bright and airy and it is almost like you are stepping into a newly purchased space! The decor is beautifully appropriate, the condo is well appointed and comfortable and they are conveniently located on the ground floor of the complex, just steps from the communal firepit and a few hundred yards from the outdoor pool and hot tub. The space is outfitted with everything that you could ever ask for. David and Wanda are truly the most generous hosts I've ever encountered during any of my stays in Vermont. My friends and I loved absolutely everything about this rental and did not want to leave. I cannot say enough good things about this rental property. You should really rent it yourself and experience "the best of the best" for yourself. It is now #1 on my list. I have never stayed anywhere in Vermont, that is more beautiful or welcoming. After 25 years of rentals, that is saying a mouthful. Congrats to David and Wanda. They are doing everything right and I am so grateful that they shared their "little bit of paradise" with us and we were able to enjoy this over-the-top experience during our mini vacay.

This is our first 5-day stay (Jun 11-21, 2022) in Rich and Nicky's 1827 House. Rich and Nicky have been prompt and accommodating in all of their communications upon confirmation of my booking. I was most impressed by their very comprehensive guidebook. Rich and Nicky must have put in lots of effort with their love of this historic House and West Dover. Check in was super easy. Once getting inside the House, the very comfortable and warm ambience tells so much love Rich and Nicky have for their House. They did a wonderful job to have the House renovated with high-end up-trend modern amenities yet preserving much of the historic charm of the House. The 1827 House was our 4th Airbnb bookings for our 2022 summer trip to the States. Yet it was the best in every aspect (concurred by my husband and our 17-year-old son). On the 4th night of our stay, we decided to extend and have another 5 nights stay at this House. We simply did not want to check out and we cannot find another better Airbnb listing! This was a unique stay to my family. We drive our own car but we also enjoyed going around places by Moover (Southern Vermont’s fare free public transit). We enjoy hiking and wandering, there are more than enough trails for us to take adventures. We enjoy learning history of the places we go along the way, Liz of Dover Historical Society & the Harris House Museum has been most helpful and informative. We enjoy home-cooked meals, the full-equipped kitchen has more than what we need. Sometimes we enjoy just be together and have a day of two off doing whatever individually and relaxingly staying in the House, the frame TV, the high-speed Wi-Fi, the very comfortable sofa.... fully support us doing whatever online for days. A big thank you to Rich and Nicky for your serious attention to every detail of the House, a real gem, making our stay unforgettable for the rest of our lives.

My friends and I rent a house up at Killington every year for the Super Bowl. These were easily the most accommodating owners we have come across during previous years of renting a ski house for the weekend. First off, I spoke to Alex in the beginning of planning the trip and realized I wasn't going to have enough room for my party, so Alex offered up their personal apartment to accommodate the size of my crew (Strongly Recommend renting the apartment as well). Everything was provided way before arrival so we were prepared well in advance on how to use all the great little gadgets that the house had to offer. The house is extremely accessible from the Killington Road, making my life very easy dealing with 7 couples NOT having to call me to ask for directions. We couldn't have been any happier with the weekend and the warmth provided by Alex and Marina's home. We strongly recommend renting this home to anyone to anyone looking for a hassle free vacation on a property, which pretty much hides in plain site of the main road.
