About me
We live in Coatesville, PA and have been visiting the beaches of South Carolina since 1988. In 1995 we stumbled upon Edisto Beach when we exchanged our time share week in Williamsburg, VA for a week at Edisto Beach. At first we weren't quite sure what to make of this quiet, sleepy little beach town that had no exit sign off I95, no signage anywhere in Walterboro (that we came across). Before the end of our first visit we knew that we wanted to come back. We had grown up going to the New Jersey shores of Wildwood and Seaside Heights that had boardwalks and amusement piers. We had spent several years going to Hilton Head and Myrtle Beach where you can find similar entertainment and TRAFFIC AND CROWDS, but here in Edisto Beach, there was no TRAFFIC, no CROWDS, no AMUSEMENT PIERS or boardwalks and we loved it! We loved the peace, the tranquility and the beauty. So within 5 years of visiting the Island, we decided to buy a place, which is saying a lot since we have spent a lot more time at other, closer beaches. The only drawback that we have found with the island is that it is 11 1/2 hours away from our home which limits our number of visits every year. If only we could move SC about 7 hours closer to Coatesville, life would be even better!!! :-)
