The Sonder Suite is nestled on a beautiful property located in Mary Esther, minutes from Hurlburt Field AFB and a short drive to the white sandy beaches of Ft. Walton and Destin. The studio guesthouse boasts a full kitchen and bathroom with modern finishes. Relax and unwind at this unique property lined with palms and tropical plants. Perfect for a weekend retreat or an extended staycation.

This is a studio guesthouse with one queen bed and a couch. An air mattress with linens are available upon request for $35/stay. Parking spot is in front of the guesthouse or by the road on the parking pad. The guesthouse is 700 Square feet. We (the hosts) live on the property and will share the driveway with you.

Parking: Two spots (one in front of the guesthouse) and one on the street side parking pad. Please don’t block access at any time.

Smoking: There is to be NO smoking of ANY kind anywhere on the property; inside or out. If there is evidence of smoking, you will be charged $250.

Pet Policy: We love our pet guests but do have some rules we ask you to follow. Dogs should be leashed at all times outside of fenced in yard and all waste promptly cleaned up and disposed of in the outside garbage can. We do have our own dogs but they will be kept on our part of the property and will not interact with your pet. Please cover any furniture your pet likes to sit on (couch, bed) with a blanket. We do have some old ones we can provide if you don’t have one or forget to bring one; just ask!*Pet fee is $15 a day per pet for stays up to 10 nights or $150 a month per pet*. You must include the number of pets staying in your booking request!

Location: Great location to Hurlburt Field AFB (2 mins to main gate off 98), Downtown Mary Esther and Ft. Walton Beach. Destin is 15 mins away and the Destin (VPS) Airport is 22 mins away. Downtown Pensacola is 50 mins away. We are not walking distance to the beach but public beach access is a 10 minute drive. If you have military access, you can go to the private beach at Hurlburt Field, which has a great dog friendly beach too!

Early check-in/out is available but the cost is $50/hour. Please request this more than 48 hours in advance so we can give our cleaners appropriate time to adjust. Cleaners will be there at 10am sharp. If have NOT requested a late check out and you are not out of the guest house by 10am, you will be charged an extra $100.

Things to take note of:
1)There are black bears in Mary Esther and we have seen bears on the property. This is not meant to scare you but for you to be mindful. Never leave any food or garbage bags outside.. they will find it! Place all full trash bags promptly into the outside garbage can with the bear strap on it. It is located on the driveway up by the main house. If you need help opening it, just ask! Also, keep a close eye on pets and never leave them outside, off leash outside of the fenced in backyard, or unattended.
2) We are located very close to Hurlburt Field AFB and that means that you will likely hear noises coming from there.. the star spangled banner, taps, planes flying, and some “banging/knocking” type noises. We have provided a sound machine/alarm clock to help drown out the noises from there and also cars driving along highway 98.
3) As mentioned, we are located off of busy highway 98 so it can be tough to find the property initially. We will provide some tips to help locate the guest house in the check-in instructions.

Please let us know if you need anything during your stay! We want our guests to have a great experience and if we don’t know about a problem then we can’t fix it :)

Guest access
You will have full access to the guesthouse, the fully fenced backyard, and the immediate gardens. Access to the back area behind our house (the main house) is prohibited unless access has been granted.

Other things to note
PET POLICY: We are pet friendly, but do charge a fee of $15 per day per pet. If you are a long term guest, the price is $150/month.
If you bring pets that are not accounted for on the reservation, we will charge $150 fee and reserve the right to cancel your reservation if the pet fee is not paid. In addition, Emotional Support Animals (ESA's) are not service animals and are subject to the standard pet policy and fees; please review Airbnb's policy regarding ESA's; [Removed] Unfortunately, we have experienced an increase in service animal fraud across our rental portfolio. To be clear, a service animal should be with you at all times and are not to be left alone in the guesthouse. We have video surveillance and live on the property so we reserve the right to report service animal fraud to the appropriate authorities.
