This cabin is rented by the true owner. The name of this cabin is Valeria's Beary Tale in honor to our daughter, Valeria who was born with a lifelong disability.

Fireplace only operates during winter season . The Fireplace is turned on Oct 1 and turned off on March 31. Per Fire Code all Fireplaces in the area should be turned off on March 1. Don't request for it to be on during your dates if its not between these dates.

This cabin is located in Sky Harbor ( in the middle of Gatlinburg & Pigeon Forge) right off the Spur! It's near all the attractions and National Park.It is a 10 min' drive from either town, you cannot ask for a better location.

So what is the Spur? The Spur is the road that connects Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. It refers to the 5 mile stretch that cuts through the Great Smoky Mountain National Park.

1. Check in and check out time ?
Check-in time is at 4:00 p.m. Please do not arrive early unless authorized by us. Automatic Key-code will not work until 4pm. If you attempt to check-in earlier the key-code won't work.

Check-out time is by 1O:00 a.m. Please be prepared to be out by 10:00 , the cabin has to be cleaned and prepared for another guest arriving that same day.

2.When booking do I pay per day or night?
You pay for every night you sleep at the cabin. Example: You book Sept 16-20. This means you check-in September 16 at 4pm and you check-out the 20th at 10am. In other words you paid for 4 nights. You paid for the night of the 16, 17, 18 and 19 ( 4 nights) and you check-out the 20th at 10am..

3. What is your cancellation Policy?
Travelers who cancel 30 days before check-in will get back 100% of the amount they've paid. If they cancel after the 30 days no refunds sorry, only rebookings apply.

Note: Please understand we cannot refund after the refund time limit has passed. When you decide to cancel after the 30 days, this leaves us stranded with lost days. . Most guests book with months of anticipation and it's real hard to get last minute bookings. . Owners are a small business and we don't have the facility as a hotel to get last minute guests.

*Refunds cannot be made due to last minute bad weather conditions as Snow and Winter Storms happening in either your City or ours. Changes in booking dates can be made instead without penalty. Other cabin owners won't allow you to cancel and re-book due to inclement weather, but we do.

*Refunds cannot be made for holiday bookings of - New Year’s Eve, Thanksgiving and Christmas..

4. Do you have security cameras? We have 2 cameras pointing out to the driveway. We are in compliance of Tennessee Law in which cameras are pointed to areas where there is no expectation for privacy like driveway. These are for your security and ours. The cameras will help identify over occupancy or if pets are brought in. The cameras will be turned off after you check-in.

5.. How is the refund made? Refund will be done same way you paid.

6.. What is rental agreement : Its a document in which us owners write down all our house rules, terms & conditions. Like no parties , no smoking, no pets etc. It is an agreement between the owner and the guest.

7. Do you make exception on pets?
We do not allow pets of any kind in our cabin because our cabin is listed as allergy free, sorry. If pets are found to be in the cabin, Guests will be subject to eviction and loss of all money paid, plus a cleaning fee of $150 to cover carpet and furniture
cleaning and flea prevention measures.

8. Is this a smoking cabin? Absolutely not, You may smoke outside, but not indoors. If evidence is found you smoked inside, extra cost of $150 will incur to pay for cleaning and sanitation.

9. Do you have daily maid service? This cabin is a privately owned property and even though we offer linens, towels, blankets and a starter kit for your arrival daily cleaning service is not included in your rental. Keep in mind we are not a hotel just owners renting you our home.

10. Do you offer military discount? No because our prices are below market price and with tax included. The discount is already in the price included.

11. Do I need a 4WD or AWD to your cabin? You don't need a 4WD unless weather says it will snow or have Ice Showers then you might need a four-wheel drive and/or chains. Our guests do fine from March- December with small cars arriving to the cabin. Only in January and February that we might have the chance of a snow you might need a 4WD , but it doesn't mean it will snow on your dates.
We provide a video showing ride to the cabin once paid in full.

12. Can you provide addresses to drive by and look at the cabin? We provide address and a video showing the ride to the cabin only to our booked guest. Sorry, but the privacy and security of our guests are top priority for us.

13. Can you arrange roses, balloons, birthday cakes or decorations for special occasions? Yes our cleaners do it at an extra charged and you pay them directly.

About the owner: Hi! We are Mauricio and Norma.We have been married for 21 years and have 2 beautiful daughters ages 18 and 12.

Because of the proximity of our home to Gatlinburg- Pigeon Forge we usually go 3 -4 times a year almost in every season. Going to the Smoky Mountains has become a tradition year after year. We are vivid travelers, we love camping, hiking, exploring all the outdoors and have found that this area of Tennessee has so much to offer for children, adults, for nature lovers, city lovers and has so much entertainment that is endless. We have visited many nice places, cities and towns in the USA and always come back to Gatlinburg/ Pigeon Forge and we never get tired of it. That is why we chose our cabin to be there, not only for our weekend getaways but for others to enjoy as well.

CHECK-IN AND CHECK-OUT TIMES Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. EST. No early check-ins please. Please do not arrive early and expect to get in without previous authorization. Each one of our guests will receive a text message the day of their arrival confirming the cabin is ready for check-in. Our Cabin will always be ready by 4pm. Only in case of snow or a last minute maintenance issue would be the only reason to make us fall behind schedule. This is very rare, but can definitely happen. We will make every attempt to have cabin prepared and ready even in case of an unforeseen circumstance. Check-out time is by 10:00 a.m. Please be prepared to be out before 10:00 am, as most of the time, the cabin has to be cleaned and prepared for another guest arriving that same day.

House Rules

Maintenance. Please text us immediately if you have any problem with heat/air conditioner, fridge, hot tub, stove or mayor appliance. Our cellphones are (864)908-2485 and (786)318-4477. Please understand that if we do not answer right away it’s because we might be driving, at work, doctors’ appointment, etc. We will try our best to help with the situation and call our maintenance crew as soon as possible. All Maintenance issues unless considered an emergency will be responded during business hours 9am-5pm.

You can also call Angie & Ryan at (423)608- 4446 (my cleaning crew) in case you cannot locate us. They live local and it’s easier for them to handle a problem like being locked out. Please report any broken, missing items or any damages immediately upon check in or if you damage something, take full responsibility and report it, so we can replace it.

If for some reason you have a complaint of any kind related to something not working or the cleaning of the cabin please let us know. Our cleaner will immediately travel to the cabin the next day and face the issue. I always check with my guests the day of their arrival, mid-stay and the day they are leaving to make sure they are happy. We strive to have good reviews and have a great team working with us who will travel to the cabin if any complaint arises. Please speak out during your stay and not after. If you wish to order Balloons, flowers, wine or anything else for your anniversary, birthday, and honeymoon, you can call Angie directly. She will stage the cabin for you. You pay her directly and tell her what you want.

Hot tub. Hot tub is drained, cleaned and filled after each guest. If hot tub is not completely warm upon your arrival it’s because cleaners cleaned it on the same day you checked-in and it takes several hours to heat. Please cover hot tub after every use, covers are for insulation purposes. Do not turn hot tub off, as it takes several hours for them to reheat. The hot tub has to be connected at all times. It is normal for it to circulate between on and off during the day and night. You’ll hear it make a light noise when it turns on (it’s heating the water to the programed temperature). You may set hot tub temperature up to 104, but keep in mind 99-100 is the best for your health. You may get dizzy if it’s too hot.
The hot tub has a "floater" with bromine to treat water, remove when you get in the hot tub and make sure to place it back anytime you are not in hot tub. Do not sit, stand or play with cover. If broken by you the cost is $450-550 to replace it. If you notice the water level is below, contact us immediately. If the water goes below jets it can cause the hot tub to stop working and result in major damage to motors and heater.

AC Thermostat: While you are in the home, if you want to go outside to the deck area, please make sure you close doors and not let the heat/ air come out. The electricity bill runs really high in these cabin rentals. Please do not lower the Thermostat below 71 in summer time as the AC unit will start freezing up on hot summer days if you have the AC full blast. In winter time most guests will have the setting in heat, but don’t lower it too much because the pipes will freeze.

Fireplace: Fireplace is gas logs with a timer that you can set at your convenience. Per code they are only to be operated from October 1 through the end of February of each year, but we have extended it to April 1. Sorry after April 1 the fireplace is disconnected. Light up Pilot: Please DO NOT blow off the pilot inside the fireplace. It’s normal to be on at all times in winter months.
Sleeper sofa: Even though the sleeper sofa has a protective cover, please put sheets if you are going to use it. There are extra sheets in the wardrobe for the sleeper. The day you check-out take them off and leave them on top so the cleaner knows he has to wash them.
Doors: Keep doors shut at all times, insects and all type of animals find the way into the cabin, even if the door is left open for seconds. We spray as a preventive measure periodically, but if guests leave doors unattended there is no way we can prevent getting unwanted visitors like spiders, scorpions, ants, snakes etc.

Things you can use: Every single thing you find in the cabin is for our guests to use: blankets, extra sheets, pillows, cabinet with spices, movies, there is nothing you can’t use, but please don’t take anything with you home. The only cabinet we keep for the cleaners is the one on top of fridge with some light bulbs, batteries in case the remotes go dead and dripping foils for stove.

BEARS: Be aware that bears visit us frequently being Summer and Fall the seasons more active. Although it might be very exciting to see one, keep distance, don’t feed them, and don’t leave food or garbage outside unless it’s the day of your check-out. Avoid having a face to face contact and very important: Do NOT leave small kids wondering around alone in the outside. Always keep an eye on your kids.
Bear Proof Garbage Can: It is located outside next to the swing. You can go putting all your garbage there until the day you check-out so our cleaners pick it up. If your stay is 6 days or longer our cleaner will pick up your garbage at mid-stay free of cost.

Local Dumpster: If you have trash and don’t want to wait until our cleaner picks it up (check-out day) or you don’t want to put it in the outside container because it’s already full, you can take it to the local County Dump located at 447 Tiger Drive, Pigeon Forge 37863. After you head down from the cabin you will head to Pigeon Forge Parkway. You will pass the Dixie Stampede, Food City, Comedy Barn, and Lumberjack until you arrive to Payless and you will take a left into Wears Valley Rd. The Dumpster is behind Pigeon Forge Middle School.
Nearest Grocery: The nearest grocery is FOOD CITY in the parkway of Pigeon Forge. For your convenience we have left two reward key chain cards from this store, so that you can get
access to special discounts. Please return them and put them back on the key holder located on the left hand side as soon as you enter by the front door.

Please be prepared to check out at 10 am, as most of the time the cabin has to be cleaned and prepared for another guest arriving the same day.

At checkout, please:
1. Towels & Linens –Leave all dirty towels, wet towels & rags inside the Jacuzzi tub in the room. You don’t have to wash anything. Please leave comforters, quilts, shams, blankets, sheets, pillows on bed as the cleaners will sort upon arrival. Please do not put inside of Jacuzzi tub the dry items as this will incur to extra costs for us. If you used sofa bed please take dirty sheets off.

2. Dishes -Please wash and dry all the dishes before you leave. We have an honor system on dishes; please make sure to do the right thing so our next guests do not encounter dirty dishes. Some guests wait till morning of departure and overload dish washer and leave them dirty. That adds more time to the cleaners and they will charge us for all these extras.

3. Bag and remove all trash and put in outside into the bear-proof container.

4. Check appliances- making sure all doors and windows are closed, lights off, stove off, TV off, coffee maker, waffle maker, toaster oven and any other appliance is off. Please help us prevent a fire hazard checking all these are unplugged.

5. Lock Cabin- On the lock box press the icon of the lock sign and it will automatically lock the cabin. You must do this each time you go out and each time you return to the cabin you will put your code number again.
Make sure cabin is generally in good condition like you found it. The role of the cleaning crew is limited to: clean bathrooms, drain/clean/sanitize Hot tub and Jacuzzi, clean kitchen, mop, broom, vacuum carpets, dust, sanitize, replace dirty sheets and towels and wash them among many things. The only thing cleaning crew won’t do is wash dirty dishes or pick up excessive mess.
Just remember that our cabin is available to you thanks to an incredible cleaning team and we must follow their rules. The majority of owners live out of state and thanks to all these cleaning people that work 7 days a week that work weekends and holidays this vacation wouldn’t be possible. Many of the cleaning crew don’t have time for a vacation, so we must feel blessed. Thanks again for staying with us and hope our cabin exceeds your expectations.

Payment Policy
We accept checks and Credit cards. To book our property a 30% deposit is required to secure dates and the following 70% balance will be due 30 days before check-in.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellations affect owners significantly. If you are not sure because of medical conditions, work permission or because road conditions we strongly suggest “Purchasing a travel insurance”.
