The cottage is generally kid-friendly! However there are no corner-guards or padding on edges of tables, chairs, fireplace etc. All children should have strong adult supervision when out on the elevated deck and front railing areas.

Policies and Rules

Check In: 4PM - Flexible

Please use the lockbox get the cottage keys at your designated time of check-in. Lockbox code will be provided upon your arrival! Upon checking out, please follow the check out instructions and replace the key in the lockbox unless otherwise noted by the owners. We might ask you to leave the cottage unlocked for the cleaning crew.

House Rules

This cottage is a sacred, special place for our family. We only rent it to those who have a strong affiliation and deep appreciation for Palisades Park and all of its rules and idiosyncrasies through personal experience in the Park or close family and friend ties.

We recommend staying for at least 5 days and any shorter-day requests are likely to be rejected.

-There is no dishwasher so please hand wash all dishes, pots, pans, utensils, etc. Dishwashing liquid, sponges and hand soaps are provided!

-Spices, seasonings, cooking oil, etc are sparse, limited, and likely expired. BYOS (Bring your own spices)

-Filtered tap water is available via the filtered spigot by the kitchen sink. Feel free to buy and bring your own water - BYOW!

-There is a garbage disposal, but please be sensitive cognizant and careful to organic materials put into it (please use common sense here)

-Linens & towels are provided! Please follow check-out protocol accordingly

-There are 4 beach chairs and several beach towels available for use. They are stored in the basement next to the washer & dryer. Please be sure to return to the basement after use!

-Please bring your own soaps, shampoo, and conditioner. However, there is basic shampoo/conditioner and hand soap provided for your convenience!

-Gas Grill available for guest use - don't forget to turn it off and please clean after use

-Washer/Dryer are located in the basement as is the 3rd full bathroom with select detergent will be available. They're a bit old fashioned but should get the job done!

-Cottage Fireplace use is not permitted - bonfires on the beach are better anyway!

-Please enjoy our kayaks, paddles, life jackets and beach chairs located in the basement/under the deck! Please clean/rinse and return everything you use to its original place. Anything lost, stolen or unaccounted for will be deducted from you security deposit :(

-We do not have a golf cart - sorry! But hey, walking is healthy and nice.

Payment Policy

50% of your booking/cleaning fee is due upon booking to lock in your reservation.

The remaining 50% and the $500 security deposit are due at least 14 days prior to your check-in date at which point you will receive additional check-in information for your stay.

Payments can also be accepted via Venmo (@john-sitterly), PayPal (@johnsitterly1), Zelle (John Sitterly, 303-242-1402), or by mail-in check (made out to John Sitterly).

Refundable Damage Deposit

The $500 security deposit is due at least 14 days prior to your check-in and will be collected along with the remaining 50% of your balance.

The deposit will be held in the event that damages or losses are sustained to the property and or amenities. The deposit with potential deductions will be returned within 14 days of your check-out date.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be made at least 14 days in advance of your check-in date to receive a full refund of your first 50% payment. Cancellations made within 14 days of your check-in date will result in a 50% loss of your initial payment. We understand that things happen and other scenarios will be handled on a case-by-case basis.
