With only three suites, the Hacienda is a serene escape, a retreat nestled on a mesa top overlooking Abiquiu Lake, Ghost Ranch, the Red Cliffs, Pedernal, and plains of red, yellow, purple and green. Each suite has its own private entrance that leads into a beautiful and authentic architectural paradise. Live comfortably with a king-sized bed made up with luxurious linens; a spa bathroom with walk-in shower; cable TV, WIFI, coffee and more amenities; and a private outdoor lounge with a chiminea fire pot, lounge chairs and expansive views. Shared amenities on the property include a fully stocked kitchen; laundry facilities; the Great Room with kiva fireplace and library; onsite Mercado gift store; a bubbling hot tub on the mesa cliff; a rooftop deck and lakeside terrace; bocce ball and jenga outdoor games; hiking trails and lake access; and so much more.

​Outdoors, enjoy the gated and walled inner plaza, try your hand at a game of Jenga or Bocce Ball, enjoy the lakeside portal, soak in the outdoor hot tub, roast s'mores in the outdoor fire pit, use the grill, or hike the property. After a long hike, dip in our splash plunge pool to cool off.

Start each morning with a three-course gourmet breakfast and specialty coffees, and end each day with an afternoon treat and spectacular sunset. Because we have no light pollution, this is the perfect location to use our telescope and check out stars, planets and the Milky Way.

Our location is like no other. Remote and away from the crowds, the drive to our property is about 4 miles on a dirt road, winding through beautiful country as you make your way towards the lake. Pedernal stands guard on one side, Abiquiu Lake and Ghostranch on the other side. The 360' views of spectacular vistas, red cliffs and the lake are so much better than we can capture in a picture. You really do have to see The Grand Hacienda to believe it. Because we also own a lakefront lot on the water's edge, you are welcome to hike to the water to float, swim or fish at the private lakefront area.

Stay away from the crowds, enjoy stillness and natural isolation, and yet feel very much a part of this incredible land. Staying remote has never been so easy. Forget something? Want a snack or meal but don't want to venture out? Need a good book, card, gift? Interested in local art? Our Mercado is available for online ordering and we will deliver your items to your suite. Want to take a great hike? Just let us know.

COVID SAFETY

We understand these are challenging times for travel, but we do believe our remote location away from the crowds provides a perfect setting for these times. Our entire staff has been vaccinated. While cleanliness has always been a priority, we have now implemented enhanced cleaning and disinfecting procedures at all our properties. We have received the NM COVID Safe Certification. We follow the "Stay Safe" guidelines through the American Hotel and Lodging Association. We disinfect all high touch surfaces (light switches, door knobs, etc). We wash all linens in hot water. Also, the hot tub is always disinfected between uses. We provide for self-check-in so you are able to come and go without contact if you prefer. We want you to feel safe when you stay at our properties, so do reach out if you have any questions.

Pets are welcome in The Georgia O'Keeffe suite. Our other suites are pet-free for our guests with anaphylactic allergies.
