This is the private, REAR, 2ND FLOOR “Starboard" unit of our historic St. Louis house.
***It is 1 large bdrm with fridge/microwave, full bath with walk in shower, approx 200 sq ft. total space.
**THIS UNIT IS SIMILAR TO A HOTEL ROOM (only nicer)**

This is a REAR, 2nd FLOOR unit that is private and self contained, with keypad entrance, approximately 250 square feet. It is a large bedroom with a full bathroom (tub/shower), kitchenette (fridge/microwave). **Please do not expect a full kitchen and a multi-room unit (see photos which accurately depict this space)**. This is NOT the 1st floor apartment. This space is suited more for short term stays, but longer terms stays also welcome. It's the perfect size for 2 people who need a place to sleep or kick back between activities in the city.

The house was built circa 1865 and was on the verge of demolition when we acquired it in 2019. We have restored it with an all new interior while keeping its exterior charm.

It’s the perfect place to stay for a night (or 7!) in the city. We’re close to so many popular and cool places, most just a $7 Uber ride away!

The unit has a smart tv with access to all the streaming services (with your subscription). High speed WiFi is available for all your social media surfing needs (or your work, if you’re here on business).

Bed is a comfy, premium memory foam queen sized mattress that sleeps 2. There is a ceiling fan and a heater/air conditioner that you can adjust to your needs.

The room includes a microwave, fridge, and coffee maker (including coffee, tea, creamer, sugar).

There is a full bathroom with a tub/shower and plenty of plush towels for your bathing pleasure, as well as shampoo, conditioner, and soap (hey, you never know if you might forget something). There is also a closet for you to store your things.

The windows let in tons of natural light, and there are room darkening curtains for when you want to keep the light out. The place is really light and airy and a great spot to kick back and relax whether you’re there for business or pleasure.

Parking is on a one way street, which is quiet, and the neighbors are delightful. Rear parking is reserved for 1st floor guests, but may be available on occasion (host will let you know).

Access to the unit is via a private, rear keypad entry. Guests have access to a large deck and gas fire pit which is shared with the unit next door.

We have plenty of security lighting, including motion lights and dusk to dawn lights for our guests’ safety.

Getting around

The house is walking distance to a lot of cool places, and a $7-10 Uber ride to most other places. St. Louis has an embarrassingly awful public transit system, FYI. There are a few nearby bus stops, and we do have a Metro Link train, although there isn’t a station very close by. We also have taxis, but I highly recommend Uber/Lyft, which is plentiful. We never wait more than 2-3 minutes to catch one, no matter where we are. The house is close to all major highways and thoroughfares.

My husband and I have have a passion for St. Louis City historic house restoration, and we’ve rehabbed 7 in the area so far. We strive to keep as many of the historic elements of these gorgeous homes as we can, but, often they are in such a deteriorated condition we when we get them, that there’s just not much left.

Rehabbing historic houses has turned us into St. Louis City history nerds, and we love learning more about life in the city in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. We research the history of every house we rehab and absolutely love seeing the names of past residents of 100+ years ago.

We’re super excited to share this rehab historic house with you! We hope you love your stay in it as much as we loved bringing it back to life!

House Rules
-Renters/guests must be over the age of 21.

-ONLY guests included on the reservation are permitted on premises. For any extra person found staying in the space over the 2 person maximum, there will be a charge of $25.

-Absolutely NO smoking in the unit! Including marijuana! $350 fine for smoking inside unit. Yes, this includes inside the unit in front of an open window. I know when you've smoked weed (or anything else) in the unit, and yes, I WILL charge you $350 for it, and your review will reflect your disregard for my house rules. Feel free to smoke outside, but please dispose of your butts in the provided receptacle and smoke away from the door.

-There is no daily housekeeping service, but there are plenty of towels and extra sheets. If you need more, we’re happy to bring you some. If you find you are out of anything, let us know, and we’ll gladly restock the unit.

-Check in is after 3pm. You must be checked out by 11am, unless other arrangements were made. You will be charged $25 per hour (and partial hour) for each hour you stay past check out time.

-No pets of any kind. If an animal is found in the space, there will be a $250 additional cleaning fee plus $100/day until the animal is removed.

-Deck is open for guest use, but please be courteous to the other guests. Quiet hours are 10pm till 8am.

-NO PARTIES, GATHERINGS, OR EVENTS OF ANY KIND. PARTIES/EVENTS WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE EVICTION AND FORFEITURE OF ALL FEES PAID.

Refundable Damage Deposit
$150 deposit required in the form of an authorized hold on your card. Hold will be released day of check out in full after unit inspected and found to have no damages and/or no missing items. This includes following the no smoking rule.
Cancellation Policy
100% refund when cancelled at least 5 days prior to check in. Cancellation 1-4 days prior to check in forfeits 1st night fee, 50% 2nd night fee; remainder of reservation refunded 100%. Cancellation day of check in forfeits all fees paid.
Notes
There is an apartment above the unit that has a regular, full time tenant and is also accessed from the rear. Please do not go up the 3rd floor stairs, this is private. There is an identical unit next door on the 2nd floor that may or may not have guests. The first floor is also a separate 1 bedroom Airbnb apartment that also may or may not have guests. Off street parking is for the 3rd floor tenant and 1st floor guest only. We dig diversity, and we’d love to have you regardless of who you love, what your political or religious affiliations are, what color you are, what you look like, and even if you like to wear socks with your sandals. We just ask that you respect the space and treat it as you’d treat your own.
