Portin pirtti - Sodankylä

115 km to the north from Rovaniemi, 17 km to the south from Sodankylä municipality center, river Kitinen 70 m, hard-bottomed and rocky beach, water level varies, own rowing boat.

The main building of Portin pirtti is an old idyllic log house. The house was built in 1946, and it has 140 m² of area. The main building has a large living room with sofa bed, kitchen, chamber with 2 bunk beds (lower bed is 120 cm wide and upper is 80 cm wide) and hall. The kitchen of the main building has been renovated and fully equipped in 2016, there are dishes for 30 people.

In the outbuilding (built in 1975, area 80 m²) there is a chamber with 2 bunk beds (lower bed is 120 cm wide and upper bed is 80 cm wide), sauna, washroom (2 showers), dressing room and 3 WCs. There is also an open fireplace in the chamber.

Wood-heated sauna on the beach (can be used only June – August). The sauna has a steam room and a dressing room. Cauldron for water heating. Water to the sauna comes via water pipe. Pipe can be used only during summer.

Large covered boathouse suitable for various parties and events. Fiber optic connection, showers and WCs only in the outbuilding.
Portin Pirtti is a perfect place for holidays, parties, social receptions, meetings and family events.
In winter river Kitinen offers nice opportunities for ice fishing, in summer you can try fishing or swimming. Portin Pirtti can be easily reached by snowmobiles too. The destination is ideal for observation of Northern Lights. In summer Portin Pirtti is an excellent destination even for larger parties thanks to the large yard area and covered boathouse.
Portin Pirtti is located in a scenic location on the banks of the river Kitinen. Rapid Porttikoski is located nearby. Porttikoski is magnificent rapid when the hatches are opened and water runs freely to the channel. This will be happening twice per week in summer.
