Who would ever think one could vacation on a private property with its own mountain?! Yes, this property of 15 acres has it, along with hiking and "scrambling" to reach its summit which is approximately at 8310 feet (about a 780 foot elevation climb from the back door). From the home and large deck that overlooks Estes valley, one can view wild life among the rocks and pines of the property....from birds and chipmunks to elk, bear and mountain cat.

This spacious home is nestled among the rocks and pines of Old Man Mountain, the ancient vision quest of the Native Americans. With town close by, there is limitless things to do with your time spent in and around Estes Park. Being on the edge of town with only a few miles to the entrance to the Rocky Mountain National Park, this place is the perfect "illusion of seclusion" for your mountain get-away.

We have been renting out this property to vacationers since 2010 and have provided many guests with pleasant memories of their visit to Estes Park and RMNP. We have the property managed by a management company, Anderson Property Management in Estes Park, for us and have just recently been advertising on HomeAway/VRBO. So please contact our management company for ava more information and for your reservation at Old Man Lookout.
Management Hours: M-F 8am-5pm, Sat 10am-2pm, Sun closed.

Absolutely loved the view every morning watching the sunrise! The hiking was beautiful, and close. I really enjoyed being just on the outskirts of the cute little town of Estes. We spent Thanksgiving there and the big kitchen was perfect for all the cooking! Also enjoyed the perfect little fireplace. I loved it and will definately be back!

Amazing rental!!! We had an amazing stay at Old Man lookout in July 2016. We traveled with our 3 kids and each had their own bed and we had our own master king bed with attached bath. The house was very clean and comfortable. We used the kitchen everyday and it had everything we needed. We were there over July 4 and was able to watch the Estes Park fireworks from the deck. The house is close to town but also secluded. Great location. We saw wildlife nearly everyday we were there right outside the house around the boulders - rabbits, chipmunks, hummingbirds, deer, and a bobcat!! We would definitely stay at this rental again and I would highly recommend it!!

We loved the outside deck and the spectacular view!
We really loved that you could walk off of the patio and go hiking! This house is very private yet so close to town! We really had a great time. We loved the BIG table to play games and share meals with! Cooking out on the patio was great too! The upstairs loft bed could have been more comfortable and maybe new couch. We are looking into going back again this summer!

Great trip for two families!
This place was awesome. Two couples and 5 kids. Grilled out on the deck every night. Climbed the massive rocks in the front and back in the mornings. Close to town for breakfast, putt-putt, fishing and ice cream. Seamless rental process - check in and check out. If we go back to CO next year, this will be a place we try to nail down again.

Wonderful Vacation Home
This was a great vacation home, we watched the sunrise each morning from the deck, home is close to town and RMNP but feels private.

excellent view
This was a great place to stay. We had seven adults in our party and we had plenty of room for everyone. We loved the view from the deck overlooking Estes. The younger adults enjoyed the trails and climbing on the rocks above the cabin. The only down side was the utensils and cookware in the kitchen. Hoping this property didn't get damaged by the flood as we left 48 hours before it hit. Will see if this home is available when we return to Estes again.

Mountaintop treat
We particularly enjoyed the view overlooking Estes Park, dining on the deck, observing the deer that ambled past, a spacious and well-appointed kitchen, plus adequate space to comfortably sleep 4 adults and three kids. The management was responsive and helpful yet non-intrusive. Proximity to Rocky Mountain National Park was perfect as we visited every day. It was fun to have a modern, spacious home with the sights and aromas of the outdoors, privacy without isolation. We're happy with our choice!

We had four adults and three children in our group and had plenty of room
We had a very pleasant experience-from booking, pretrip questions, and good response to our only problem with the router. We appreciated the boosters, high chair and pack n play for the children, as well as the nicely equipped kitchen appliances. We enjoyed the multiple dining areas-inside and on the deck to catch the view. The scenery was inspirational; the area was quiet; yet we could be downtown in 3-5 minutes. We found plenty of activities: bowling, rock-wall climbing, miniature golf, a driving range, the Tram ride, hiking trails, Rocky Mountain National Park, the River Walk and shopping! We also enjoyed activities at or near the house: hiking around the house, wildlife, and watching the horseback riders on a mountain trail. A mule deer bedded down north of the house one rainy day and we enjoyed watching him. From the description I knew the home would not be handicapped favorable: it has two sets of stairs, with bedrooms, bathrooms and loft up a short flight of stairs from the main level, which is up a flight of stairs from the garage. It was a wonderful family vacation!

relaxing with a gorgeous view
The house was perfect for our family. Close access to town and also Rmnp. Very relaxing with gorgeous view. We found everything we needed. Having laundry facilities was great. We found the house very clean and well maintained.

Great view. Lots of room. Great location
We were a family of 8 that stayed in old man lookout house. There were 3 couples and 2 singles which made it kind of tough to accommodate everyone. The house had 31/2 bathrooms which was really nice but the loft upstairs was not really accommodating for a couple. The kitchen was nice and had all the needed appliances. Washer and dryer downstairs was very useful. The house itself sits at the base of Old Man Mountain which is a very spiritual rock formation and the house is surrounded by large boulders. All in all it was good home base to explore the city of Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park.

Beautiful, but hot!
The home was close to town, which was so convenient, yet it was quiet and somewhat secluded. It was an ideal location to hike, which we didn't because it was 100 degrees. The home was very nice, clean and roomy. It was nice to have a couple of king beds and enough bathrooms for all 3 families. The deck was perfect and the views were breathtaking. It was also nice to have a two stall garage. The only downfall was no air conditioning. We are from Kansas, so I didn't even know that is something you should ask about. It was 100 degrees almost every day we were there and all we had were fans. I would have brought a couple more if I had known it didn't have a/c. The evenings were pretty miserable, but after the sun went down it cooled down a little.

A perfect place to celebrate!
I planned this trip for my husband's birthday. We had our teenage children and met friends (another couple) there. We were very comfortable. Having two master bedrooms was perfect for our situation. The scenery was spectacular and we enjoyed little hikes right from the property. We would definitely stay there again in the future and recommend it for an unforgettable getaway.

Everything was better then expected.
Old man Lookout is the perfect location for our family, because we love Rmnp for hiking and end the day with dinner in town and walking and shopping. The views from this property are breath-taking.

Great location for a family get together. The number of bedrooms & bathrooms was perfect for us and being close to Rocky Mtn NP was terrific. Overall, very satisfied with the rental and would stay there again when in town.

Great Family Friendly Home!
Our family stayed middle of October. The house was everything we expected. Great location, plenty of space for 8 people. We had an 18 month old and a 4 year old, the house had toys, high chair, booster seat, and portable play pen. We love the fact that it had all of these items for children. Also, it was in a great location close to Estes and Rocky Mt. Park. If we were to come back we would defiantly stay in this house again! Thanks for a great home!

Large comfortable home with excellent views and close to town
The Old Man Lookout home is a large house located at the top of a very quiet street that is just west of downtown Estes Park. It is very convenient to town, but located in trees with very nice views. It is a high quality house and all of the beds and furniture are new
