65 km to the southwest from Salo, lake Björkbodanjärvi 100 m, swimming beach 100 m (length 2,5 km, width 600 m), shallow, sanded beach for children, mud bottom in deeper, there are plenty of water plants on the beach (however, swimming is possible), pier, own rowing boat. Björkbodanjärvi is a small (180 ha) lake in Kemiönsaari. Kemiönsaari is one of the largest islands in Finland.

Log apartment, built in the end of the 1800 century, renovated in 2013, renovated for tourism use treasuring the traditions. Apartment has own peaceful yard. Both entrances of the apartment are leading to the same apartment. There is a separate apartment in the end of the house. This apartment is not in rental use.

There are three bedrooms in the apartment: 1 bedroom 160 cm double bed (masonry heater), 2 bedroom two separate 90 cm wide beds (masonry heater), 3 bedroom 90 cm bed and spreadable sofa; 90 cm wide bed in separate space. Spacious kitchen, shower, WC in the washroom. There is no separate living room in this apartment, one of the bedrooms can be used as a living room, there is also a TV. Shared covered cooking area in the yard, no own sauna.

Separate former sauna/laundry building on the beach, building is for shared use, previously this building has been used by the manor staff. The sauna building has a large dressing room/fireplace room, large shower room (2 showers) and steam room (must be heated by yourself). Small sauna can be used without a separate fee daily at 21.00 - 22.00 (must be heated by yourself).
There are general shifts daily: women at 17.00 - 19.00, men at 19.00 - 21.00. Old and atmospheric former apartment operated by old iron works, built in the late 1800 century.
Originally the apartment accommodated workers working in factory, but nowadays it is renovated for tourism use treasuring the traditions, destination is monitored by Finnish Heritage Agency.

Björkbodan historical iron works and manor is a historical area, which has been used for refining iron for agricultural and household needs since 19th century. The iron ore was transported from Dalsbruk's iron works to Björkboda by using horse carriages. From the beginning of the 1900 century, locks and bushings are made in the area. The factory was used for manufacturing locks until 2019. The factory was operated by Assa Abloy.

The manor was built as the home for factory director. Other smaller buildings were built for factory workers. The iron works area is quite dense, neighbors are close by a comfortable way. Yard is grassed, bright and spacious. The nearest neighboring house is right next door, entrance to the house from the other side of the house, usually no disturbance. There is also a large former storage nearby, used now as a machine shelter for the manor.

Nowadays, several forestry and agricultural activities, horse business (big new manège and riding trails), farm tourism and hunting trips for large groups are done in Björkboda manor.

Dalsbruk 12 km, Kasnäs (e.g. Sinisimpukka nature centre and spa, sea excursions to Örö fortress Island and Bengtskär lighthouse Island) 30 km, Meri-Teijo ski and golf centrer 45 km, Bjärkas Golf 7 km, Kemiö 15 km, Salo 65 km.

Payment Policy
There are two ways to pay for your booking:

For bookings within 14 days prior to arrival only credit cards are accepted.

A down payment of 20% of the total rental cost of the reserved rental property is payable within 5 days of the booking date. The remaining balance must be paid to Interhome no later than 28 days before the start of the rental period. If you book your holiday house or apartment less then 43 days prior to your arrival date, you will have to pay the total rental cost immediately.

Refundable Damage Deposit
The key holder is entitled to ask for a deposit. You will find the deposit amount in the cost overview on the object detail page of the holiday house or the apartment as well as on your booking confirmation.

The deposit can be paid by credit card or cash (as mentioned on your booking confirmation). It is necessary to pay the deposit otherwise you will not receive your key. Please note that at some locations the only option is cash payment.

What happens to my breakage deposit?

The deposit is a security retainer and will be refunded upon proper return of the rental property. The deposit will either be refunded to your bank account or received directly from the keyholder if you paid in cash. For a refund of the deposit to your bank account, always leave your IBAN- and BIC-code with the keyholder.

Cancellation Policy
You can cancel your booking by phone, post or eMail. Your cancellation comes into effect on the date of receipt of your notification.

If you withdraw from the contract, we will invoice you the following cancellation charges:

A) up to 43 days before the start of the rental period: 10% of the rental
B) 42 to 29 days before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental
C) 28 to 2 days before the start of the rental period: 80% of the rental
D) 1 day before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental
