Welcome to The Bear Den Chatuge! Our spacious 3400 square feet, comfortable, cozy home is the perfect getaway - private and secluded on a wonderful cul de sac in a quiet cove and short drive to Hiawassee and Hayesville. 4b/3b on 2 levels with a variety of living spaces inside and out make this the perfect home for friends, family or a romantic getaway. There are lots of outdoor activities in the area for you to enjoy including all the water sports, boating, hiking, shopping, dining and more.Waterfront property, sleeps 13 people on beautiful lot with private covered dock and boat slip. You can swim and float right off the dock in the deep, clear mountain water! This home’s highlight are the many areas to enjoy the lakefront views: grab one of the 14 Adirondack chairs around 3 outdoor living spaces and enjoy the great outdoors from any location or view you wish! Have coffee on the deck and drinks and appetizers by the waterfront firepit. Use the extra ice machine to keep coolers cold while enjoying the sunshine and the boat on Lake Chatuge. This house has everything you need for the perfect vacation. Wake up in one of the two master bedrooms and gaze out your sliding glass doors to the lakefront view and have coffee in bed!
The bedrooms are large and roomy while the open floor plan living area has a spacious seating area with a sectional couch around a large HD flat Screen Smart TV and a beautiful gas log fireplace for those chilly winter nights. There is a dining table with seating for up to 8 diners with additional seating for 3 at the kitchen bar, an additional table for 4 in the main living area and seating for 4 at the outdoor bistro table on the screened in porch (Bistro table coming September 2020).
The master bedroom has a King sized bed, a large flat-screen HD TV, and an en-suite bathroom complete with a newly tiled shower and a walk in closet. The master bedroom also has a sliding glass door opening out to your waterfront deck and a full size walk in closet with luggage rack to unpack and organize.
The second master bedroom has a King size bed, large walk–in closets with a luggage rack and a dresser. The sliding glass door opens directly out to your waterfront deck and the lounge chairs from Frontgate and Gardinrod. There is a small sitting area in this room to get away for some privacy and enjoy a quiet moment!
The third bedroom is also on the main level with a queen size bed, chair and a good size closet and luggage rack.
On the terrace level there is an additional 4th bedroom with 2 queen beds, 2 twin beds and a full size futon. In the rec room there are two queen size futons if needed (futon's arriving Sept 2020). The Terrace level also offers it’s own full bath and laundry room.

We have been married for 25 years and have two beautiful daughters who also love lake life! Our lives in the big city are in stark contrast to our downtime at the lake and that is a huge reason why we love the area. Cool mountain breezes, quiet mornings watching the fog on the lake and beautiful sunsets to end our day.

Weber Grill
You are welcome to use our weber gas grill but PLEASE DO NOT MOVE IT. When using the grill, make sure you turn off the gas after you are done cooking and that children stay a safe distance away. When renting the property and using the grill, you are agreeing to the rules stated and will take full responsibility for any injuries or damages that may occur. Please CLEAN the grill when finished.
Pet Policy
Pets are absolutely not permitted in this vacation rental. Your entire deposit will be forfeited pets are in or on the property.
Outdoor Furniture
Lawn chairs and lake toys can be taken down to the dock for your enjoyment. Please return them to under the deck at the end of your visit.
Please keep the porch & deck furniture and the 14 Adirondack chairs in their original locations. If the furniture is not in its original location, you may be charged against your security deposit.
White Towels
White Towels are for INDOOR use only and are not to be used for swimming, boating or sunbathing. There are some beach towels provided for you for the lake. Charges may be incurred if white towels are damaged.

Cancellation policy is flexible. Within 7 days and you get your money back less your deposit. 100% refundable if cancelled 30 days or more from the start of your reservation date.
Notes
There is ample driveway parking. Please do not park on the street or leave the vehicles at the private boat ramp a few doors down from our home as that is a shared ramp with 6 other homes. Thank you!
