The room also has a desk, mini fridge, chest of drawers and full closet. The closet has extra towels, blanket, luggage rack, fan, iron & ironing board. Electric kettle, locally-roasted coffee, french press, teas, snacks, cream, sugar, and complimentary cold beverages provided. Free wifi access.
Spacious attached bathroom has a classic clawfoot tub with shower, toilet and sink. We provide an assortment of soaps, shampoos and blow-dryer. Total space is approx. 230 sq ft.
Though our check-in time is 4 pm, you are welcome to arrive early and leave luggage downstairs, just inform us of your arrival time, and we will accommodate.
Guests are free to come and go as they please all hours w/ key provided. Access to back patio is through side door in the kitchen, or driveway next to house. Covered front porch for rainy day sitting/smoking.
Guests have access to our fully appointed kitchen, just let us know if you plan on using it and please clean up afterwards.

There are many bars, including 4 brewpubs, 2 live music venues, 18 or so restaurants, amazing donuts, ice cream, local clothing boutiques, coffee & tea shops, numerous food carts, beer bottle shop, chocolate/wine shop all within a short walk on Mississippi Ave.

The house is very centrally located. We are two and a half miles from central downtown, about a 5/minute drive. Bus and light rail are both within a short walk. We are in a dense urban area near a freeway, so a white noise machine is provided for sensitive sleepers.
The house is pet free. Neighbor cats sometimes visit our garden and are very friendly.

Parking is usually available either in front of the house or nearby on the street - there are often spaces north toward the dead-end of Missouri Ave. If no spots are available let us know and we will make room in the driveway. Please do not park in any marked handicapped spots or spaces marked by traffic cones.

The room is set up to be largely self-contained, but Genie and George (on-site hosts) are long-time residents of both Portland and the Boise neighborhood and would be delighted to discuss neighborhood and city sites that might be of interest. You will be greeted at the door and shown to the room, which is directly up the stairs from the front entrance - allowing for private coming and going through-out your stay with your own door key.

Mississippi Avenue is a delight! Food, fun, and frolic! There are approx. 25 bars, including 4 brewpubs and a winery, two music venues; Thai, Middle Eastern, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Vegetarian/Vegan, Pizza, and American restaurants, clothing boutiques, dedicated coffee and tea shops, cute card and gift shops, fantastic doughnuts, two bottle shops, and a salt/chocolate/wine shop within a short walk of the house. We are happy to recommend our favorites.

The house is very centrally located. We are right off to the I-5 freeway; it takes 7 minutes to get downtown by car, and about 15 by bike. Public transportation is very close, as well. The yellow Max (light rail) line that goes straight downtown is just an 8 minute walk away. The #4 bus line is two blocks away and goes to a nearby transfer hub prior to continuing downtown.

However, all you really need to do is walk! The best of Portland is just outside the door. There is fine dining, brewpubs, just pub-pubs, amazing cart food, a fabulous music venue (Mississippi studios), cute shops ‐‐ all within a few blocks. We are also just 7-8 blocks from the heart of the Williams neighborhood and about a mile to the center of the Alberta arts district.

We welcome all races, religions, genders; LGBT welcome. 420 friendly/ dispensary two blocks away.
