Overview

Welcome to the quiet Temescal Jewelbox! Newly renovated, our backyard apartment is a home away from home in one of Oakland’s most vibrant centrally located neighborhoods. We love Temescal! Fully equipped new kitchen, a light filled living area with our prize 1957 Metz music cabinet, restored and Bluetooth compatible - stream your play lists from the dedicated WiFi. Settle in to the upstairs bedroom with a cozy reading nook, desk space, a “walk-up” closet, en-suite small bathroom with shower.
We live in the front house, a typical 1920’s bungalow, the Jewelbox Apartment is all yours. The apartment is attached, but has its own private entrance through the back gate and shares only an external wall. It is super quiet. Our sunny back yard is available for your use. The Jewelbox’s private entrance opens right onto it.

Getting around

Super easy to get around. 4 blocks from MacArthur BART, 4 stops to downtown SF, 2 stops to downtown Berkeley, 1 stop to downtown Oakland. Guests will have the driveway parking spot set aside for them. But your feet will be the best! Get your steps in as you explore 3 amazing shopping districts within walking distance; Telegraph Ave with Temescal Alley, the 40th Street Corridor, and Piedmont Avenue. Fun shops, bars, beer gardens, restaurants, grocery, CVS, yoga and workout studios, etc. all just blocks away! Upscale Rockridge is 1 mile up the street. Open space and bay trails a 10-15 minute drive. Legendary Berkeley Bowl grocery is 5 minute drive, Berkeley’s great 4th Street shopping district 15 minute drive. Lots of transit options to get into SF. Happy to fill you in!

Sofa is not big enough to sleep on. Two people traveling together need to be comfortable sharing a queen size bed.

The bedroom and bathroom are up a full flight of stairs above the living area and kitchen. Two people traveling together should be comfortable sharing a queen size bed. The sofa is love seat size and not big enough to sleep on. Namaste - yoga mat, a foam roller, and a zafu in the unit. You are welcome to enjoy our backyard although it is a shared space with us. There is some great seating, dining table and chairs, and a charcoal bbq in the back available for your use.
