PEAK SEASON DATES (Memorial Day to Labor Day) we rent Saturday to Saturday only

OFF SEASON DATES (Labor Day to October 31) DO NOT have to be rented Saturday to Saturday and shorter stays are acceptable and can begin or end on any day of the week. Minimum stay varies from 3-4 days depending on dates.

This luxurious, lakefront, dream home is located on the west shore of Lake Almanor (includes a private boat dock and 2 buoys). The spacious 4000 square foot home is loaded with unique architectural features that include seven one-of-a-kind arched trusses that create the home’s large main gable, arched windows, custom wood carvings, trims, and moldings. The living room contains a wall of 20 windows that reach up to the 28 foot high wood ceilings, providing spectacular views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

This large, comfortable home can sleep 17 people. The Master bedroom (downstairs)has a California King bed, a gas fireplace for ambiance, and French doors opening to the lakeside deck. The Master bath has a large jetted tub, double headed shower, double sinks, and a separate "throne room." The other downstairs bedroom has one Queen bed. Upstairs are three more bedrooms- The Summer Camp Room with a California King bed,The Antler Room with a standard King size bed, The Bear Room with a California King bed. The Family Room has a California King size bed and 2 Twin size daybed/sofas with trundles under. There are 4 full bathrooms- 2 downstairs and 2 upstairs.

Our Home Owner’s Association has a nine-hole golf course, four tennis courts, a basketball court, and a lakefront recreation area (with huge grass area, barbecues, sand beach, and children’s play equipment), all within walking distance of the house, and a boat launch ramp that is just down the road.

Excellent fly, spinning, and troll fishing in the lake and surrounding rivers and streams for trophy-sized rainbow trout and brown trout, as well as land-locked Chinook salmon, small mouth bass, and large mouth bass.

We first saw Lake Almanor when we were college students at Cal State University, Chico. Years later, we had the opportunity to move from the bay area and Lake Almanor seemed like the perfect place to rear our young children and host pastors and missionaries through Hospitality Homes International.

We moved to Lake Almanor in 1998 and planned to live there forever.
We lived in Lake Almanor Country Club for a year and looked for property that would fit our desire to host pastors and missionaries in a guest house. Ultimately God led us to this lot, on a quiet cul-de-sac with the added serenity of Lake Almanor West.

In 1999 we bought our lot and began drawing our house plans, keeping in mind our young children and our aging parents. In 2001 our home was completed. It was an exciting time- we moved 3 days before Christmas with 2+feet of snow on the ground!

Lake Almanor West is a small-ish development and is about half the distance to Chester than most homes in the Country Club. And because we planned to live there year round it was an added benefit that the roads in Lake Almanor West are maintained by Plumas County and our drive to town is basically flat, so snow is not a problem. Because our home is on a cul-de-sac we don't have busy traffic racing by, and being on the west side of the lake we have less wind on our side of the lake than the Country Club eastern side of the lake. We have fewer homes so the general feel of Lake Almanor West is more laid back and quiet. We like that. LAW has a boat ramp, tennis courts, golf, a recreation area, a restaurant on the golf course, and a lovely paved bike/walking trail about 12 miles long that starts on the south side of LAW and meanders to the dam.

While we lived there, we hosted pastors and missionaries in the guest house and were blessed to meet some wonderful people. But things happen, and life changes so in 2006 we found that another opportunity had arisen that took us away from our lake home and we moved to Meadow Vista, CA. We learned that we could continue our ministry through Hospitality Homes International and open our home to additional guests through hosting as a vacation rental. It has been a wonderful experience and allowed us to meet some beautiful families. We have been a (small) part of 50th and 60th Wedding Anniversary celebrations, family reunions that will be remembered for decades, and adult church/Bible study retreats.

What makes this house unique
With 4000 sq. ft. of indoor living space as well as almost 1000 sq. ft of outdoor deck we are able to host large groups. Most of our groups are Family Reunions with multiple generations all seeking to gather for that rare opportunity to slow life down and catch up with one another. WE HAVE LIMITED HANDICAP ACCESSIBILITY. We have found that we are a good fit for professional retreats, as well as Bible Study groups and Book Clubs. For those groups that have double occupancy in the bedrooms they find it much more comfortable to have a super-sized Cal-King bed or King bed than the smaller bed sizes offered by other vacation rental homes in the area.

Refundable Damage Deposit
Damage/Security deposit refunded within 30 days unless there is damage or dispute
Cancellation Policy
Reservation cancellations and transfers (reservation date changes) must be in writing and received by Owner. In case of cancellations, no refund of rents paid will be made until the canceled period is re-rented and confirmed. If the unit is not re-rented, all rents paid, and taxes shall be forfeited as damages. If the canceled period is re-rented, any rent and taxes paid will be refunded less a $125.00 administrative fee. Transfers occurring from a higher rental rate to a lower rental rate will remain at the higher rental rate unless the original higher rental rate week is re-rented and confirmed.
