Hooper Island Bayside Haven Details:
The Haven is the only vacation rental on Hoopers Island that has
2 docks & access to BOTH the River AND the Bay!
The Haven reaches all the way to the Chesapeake Bay, perfect for playing badminton, horseshoes, flying kites, or just sitting by the bay to watch the sunset and the cruise ships pass by. Enjoy the large fire pit and double swing next to the bay, plenty of outdoor space and seating.

On the river side (dock side), relax in the screened in porch, watch the nesting ospreys out front and the watermen as they bring in the day's catch.
Although we are surrounded by water, there isn’t a typical beach experience. Swimming in the bay is NOT for everyone, although many do cool off using our floats. The waterways are ideally enjoyed by paddle boarding, kayaking, jet skis, etc.

The studio is within walking distance of crab picking houses for FRESH, just-picked crab. You can "do it yourselves" and "crab" right from our dock out front! We provide small crab trap/pots for you as well as a pot to steam them in.

We are a SMOKE FREE property and are not handicap accessible.

We are Debi and Steve Richter, we love hosting and are constantly looking for ways to impress, improve and help our guests make the most of their time away. I'm a semi retired floral designer/event planner, so I am all about the details! We love to travel and know that we appreciate clean and comfy surroundings with hosts that will give us great recommendations for local activities, so we strive to do the same for our guests.

We pride ourselves on steam cleaning EVERY soft surface between changeovers, aside from the normal cleaning and disinfecting, our reviews show that our guest appreciate our attention to their comfort.

We hope to welcome you to the Chesapeake or the Jersey Shore soon!

Getting around

You will need a car to get out to Hoopers Island. Bring a bicycle and explore the flat byways throughout the Blackwater Refuge and on Hoopers Island.

Check In: 4PM - Flexible

Guests will receive the door code the afternoon of check in. I may be able to be flexible with check in, I will tell guests on a case by case basis.

Minimum age limit for renters: 21

This is not a party house, all unrelated guests must be over 21.

House Rules

BEFORE Checking Out:
* Please sweep or vacuum the floors/stairs
* Remove any food from the frig
* Remove garbage & recycling from cans outside, and bring home to receive refund
* Wipe any spills in frig, on counters, etc.
* Wipe down sinks, toilet and shower
* Unplug small appliances & A/C
* Bring in any chairs that you brought outside, swing, put grill back in porch
* Close and Lock Windows
Your attention to these small tasks help to keep costs down and enables me to do the more complete deep cleaning, replacing linens, etc. between each guest.

Payment Policy

Payment by PayPal, security deposit by check.

Refundable Damage Deposit

Book Direct bookings must send a check two weeks prior to checking in, and it is returned within 7 days of check out.

Cancellation Policy

Cancel prior to 90 days before check in, receive 50% of fees paid. We are a small venue and suggest that you purchase trip insurance. insuremytrip.com I can also provide you with a link for CFAR insurance (Cancel For Any Reason) as well as regular trip insurance, once you have booked.

Signed Booking Agreement along with a copy of Photo ID & current address for guest that booked and names of guests.
