- Walk into a beautiful main level open concept layout with a fireplace and vaulted ceilings
- The lower level features a large entertainment area with a fireplace
- We offer reliable highspeed WiFi, DirectTV, and a DVD player
- The fully equipped kitchen includes pots, pans, utensils, plates, bowls, Keurig, traditional coffee maker, etc. and has stainless steel appliances and granite counters
- The spacious covered deck has authentic Adirondack chains, a picnic table, and a propane-provided gas grill for your enjoyment
- The lower level has a washing machine and dryer and walks out to a private hot tub with amazing views
- The outdoor entertainment area offers both a fire pit and fire ring as well as a table and chairs

- The main floor bedroom features a log frame king-sized bed, a large walk-in closet, TV, and en suite bathroom with a double vanity, glassed in shower, and private toilet room
- The 2nd bedroom is located in the walkout lower level and features a log frame queen bed, spacious closet, and TV

***FYI - the cabin has a 3rd bedroom on the lower level that will remain locked (no one else will be at the cabin during your stay). We can open this bedroom if needed for an additional nightly rate. -- THE LOCATION --
The surrounding area is home to wonderful restaurants, breweries, the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, hiking, zip-lining, trout fishing, and canoeing. Bryson City, Nantahala Outdoor Center, Fontana Lake, Harrah's Casino, Cherokee, Nantahala River Gorge (white water rafting), Tsali Biking, Fontana Lake, Maggie Valley, and entrances to the Blue Ridge Parkway/Smoky Mountains are all an easy drive away. A 90 min scenic drive will take you to Clingman’s Dome, Asheville, Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and Sevierville.

The address doesn't pull up on map apps due to the recent construction of the cabin. However, searching for “Honey Bear Retreat” or "Alarka Highlands" in Bryson City, NC will get you 99% of the way there. We will provide more detailed directions upon booking.

Expect some steep and curvy roads, both paved and gravel, but they are manageable. We recommend that you arrive the first time during daylight hours as it can be very dark and there are no street lights on the mountain. AWD or 4WD vehicles are highly recommended, especially in the winter months. Motorcycles are NOT recommended due to the gravel roads.


-- WHAT WE PROVIDE --
- All sheets, towels, and bedding will be provided - including extra hot tub towels
- We offer a complimentary WIFI Phone for guest use
- A starter pack of necessities will be provided to all guests (toilet paper, paper towels, laundry detergent, dishwasher soap, etc.)

-- POLICIES --
- No smoking and no pets ($150 per night fine will apply for any violation of these policies)
- Maximum of 4 guests including children. Children must be 8 years or older as this cabin is not child-proofed
- No parties, camping or motor homes on the property.
- Minimum age of primary renter: 23
- We don't refund solely based on bad weather/forecasts but we are happy to work with you and credit you for a future stay. We see the most snow/ice from mid-December to early March, so please keep in mind if your stay falls within that time frame that you may be asked to reschedule. Your safety is always our top priority.
- We require a photo ID of the primary renter to be supplied at the time of booking.
- We require the rental agreement to be acknowledged and signed at the time of booking.
